Don`t you just love words? So many really good ones that are begging to be used and yet you hear so rarely these days.
Yesterday was another fabulous day, hot and sunny, just how we like it. Went shopping in the morning and took the littlest two grandchildren with us. We were looking for ribbon and I had a particular shop in mind... except they were closed. I mean, how inconsiderate is that when I need them. From the sign I gathered it is a recent thing. So we strolled around the other shops in the vicinity but still came up empty handed. Apart from.... a pack of yarn. I know, I know... I wasn`t going to buy any more but it sat there on a shelf calling to me, looking so lost and forlorn.... How could I leave it there? Well I couldn`t, so I didn`t.
In the end we went to hobbycraft and they had loads. Hubby has been making personalised door plaques to match the shelves and we needed the ribbon for hanging to take the pics. Hopefully, within a couple of weeks they will be in our Not On The High Street shop.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!
August has started with glorious weather
just as we were at the end of our tether.
It was sunny and warm all day long
almost enough for me to break into song.
Don`t panic, I won`t go that far
you don`t have to run for the bar.
Just celebrate with me today,
for summer sun and outdoor play.
August brings a new club listing daily
busy creating and showing gaily
all the wares they have made
declaring the club, not ready to fade.
I`m not a part of it yet
because I still have to get
lot`s more ready for the next season
and that is my only reason.
The community and fun I miss sorely
but my attendance would be poorly.
The focus is on the winter to come
I`ve got to make lot`s and then some.
I`m planning well ahead this year
there`ll be lots of goodies, no fear.
For now the A-Listers hold centre stage
with delectable goods that are all the rage!

ReplyDeleteHi Linda, Thank you very much for featuring my Copper Bracelet. You have picked some lovely things, love the poem too. Martina x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for including my bookmark. A beautiful selection. I know what you mean about yarn calling to you from the shelves - went to get some for a customer but practically fell over the end of line bin so had to come home with a ball o2 from that! Next door in charity shop I found a tunisian crochet hook - have needed one for years! Then found a technical knitting book so that fell off the shelf into my hands too :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat Start to the month from the A-liters on Folksy. I do like Julie's stag and the new card from Squintessential.
ReplyDeleteThank you for including my Greyhound Bag Charm, much appreciated.

Thank you for including my silver heart jotter in your blog. I love dachcrafts greyhound used to keep greyhounds when I was little. Some shops have just the right ribbon, I have a couple of favourites :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing off my bouquet card! I especially love Hannelore's own and that ship. Hannah. x
