always waits for you, however long.

Sun & Sky #Etsy

Dreaming of summer I went for this sun and sky effect for todays blog. Lot`s of gorgeous blues and yellows. I always think these colours tend to give a bit of a lift, nearly as much as blue sky and sunshine does.

Yesterday I was very sociable, having coffee and lunch out with a friend after nipping to Hobbycraft for a few things I needed.
We also did a bit of shopping and much to my surprise I found two pairs of really comfortable and pretty sandals. A very good result as I hadn`t really been looking for any and it was a spur of the moment thought to go in the shop.
Mind you I often find that when I am looking for something in particular I never seem to find it, and yet when I`m not I find something ideal.
I also visited my elder daughter and saw the children and then had a visit from my sister and niece and my 15 year old grandson popped in too. Great fun.

There is a rumour going around
that summer will soon be found.
That maybe an alien thing will light
up the world, it`ll be a strange sight.
There`ll be a great yellow ball
hanging in the sky and not fall.
This will have a blue surround
people gazing up, will abound.
Clothes will be shed very fast
with many cries of `at last`.
Basking in the warmth of the sun
bodies ready now for outdoor fun.
Everywhere many a smiling face
as life starts to slow a pace.
Some will complain about the heat
but for me it can`t be beat.
Right now it`s what we all need
and I`m hoping hard, yes indeed!!

Male Gifts #Etsy

Yesterday was a housework and a bit of a leisurely day. My younger daughter and her hubby dropped in on their way back to London for a chat and a coffee, which was lovely.
Then it was reading the papers and onto the computer.
I`ve been trying to tidy up my blog and get rid of old posts a few at a time. Having blogged almost daily for nearly four years that`s a lot of blogs. Plus many of the older ones have lost pictures as items have been sold, so then they look messy.
Every so often I think to check back for titles so they aren`t repeated and then I will often get rid of several of the oldest ones then. Like for Mothers Day and Fathers Day etc.
I have lot`s of new makes to list but haven`t had time at the minute. I really want to concentrate on getting more patterns written down and transferred to downloadable files.
They are very time consuming to do, but as the amount I have written down in rough is growing, with more ideas coming along, I think I must buckle down and get on with it. Siiiiiigh!

What to get for the man in your life?
I find it causes me a lot of strife.
One year I`ll get what he asks for,
nothing! Will he fall on the floor?
We all struggle to find something unique
that certain gift that will pique
their interest and give much delight.
Sadly though it`s always a fight.
As these men get older it gets worse
to find a gift worth opening the purse.
Should you get something to wear?
There`s always the standby, underwear.
I want a gift that he will treasure
that he will enjoy at his leisure.
One that won`t just be put away
never to see the light of day.
Others ask, What should I buy?
I just shake my head and sigh.
He already has all he needs
wish he was interested in beads.
Maybe I could buy him wool?
Tempting but the cupboards are full.

Shades of Blue #Etsy

Yesterday was rather a slow and lazy day. I seem to have slowed right down at the minute and am taking a bit of a step back to evaluate where it`s all going.
Summer is a good time for that as all the shops seem to be very slow anyway, part of the reason for the evaluation.
Do I pare down what I do and offer for sale? Do I cut out those things that don`t sell very much? It`s a tough one really.
Since being made redundant I am trying to increase sales to make this my permanent job, but am now wondering if I have diversified too much. Is that even possible? Shouldn`t we have a variety of goods to offer the buyer?
Hmmmm..... I don`t really know the answers to that. I would hate to not do any of my crafts as I love them all and am always learning new ones.
I will cogitate upon these matters, I am sure the answers will come.

Bright blue of a summers day
hearing childrens shouts at play.

that creates quite a story.
