March CraftyFolk #Etsy

Seeing gorgeous listings on the March Crafty Folk thread, not just handmade, vintage too. Some of the vintage items had us all reminiscing. There were some glasses that many recalled their parents having, unfortunately I remembered having some. Oh dear, I am clearly way too old for all this. Well I would be if the inside matched the outside but luckily it doesn`t, so I am still full of the joys of youth.
Goodness, how did I wander so far from the Crafty Folk. I do seem to have a terrible habit of digressing and to prove it here I go again.
Okay focus!! Wonderful listings, March Crafty Folk on Etsy and we`re back. So I thought I might show some here today. If you get the chance, do have a browse through all the fabulous shops as they all have many more treasures to be discovered.
The last couple of days we have had beautiful weather, sunshine, blue skies and mild. Well, mild when the sun warms it all up. Plummeting temps at night though unfortunately. Still we do seem to be heading in the right direction at long last.
Yesterday I was busy making some more mug cosies and coasters to add flowers to for Mothers Day. I made one and was very pleased with the result so decided to make a few more. I listed the one I had made and it sold straight away, so I worked on the next two getting them embroidered and buttons stitched on.
I picked up my grandson from pre school and it`s lovely to see his little face light up when he sees me. He is getting a lot more talkative now and tells me what he has done at school on the way home. We also talk about anything and everything we see, often stopping to examine moss and anything that looks interesting. Does mean it takes longer to get anywhere but it does make a walk more of an adventure.

The sun is out, beautiful and bright
sending out that warming light.
The weather peeps, they said cloud,
it clearly wasn`t very loud.
We have a clear blue sky
and the sun heading up on high.
This is what I call spring
it really makes me want to sing!
Spring is sprung, the grass is growing
I love to see Nature flowing
from one season to the next one
at times so fast it`s quickly gone.
Sometimes it`s one step forward and two back
as decisiveness nature seems to lack.
One day winter and then it`s spring,
making all the birds sing.
New growth appears lovely and green
and cold is nowhere to be seen.
But at night it creeps back in
for now the plants can`t win.
But time ineveitably marches past
and spring will finally stay at last!!

March Makers #FolksyFriday

Not only is it Folksy Friday time again but we have a new month too and already in the second day. Aaaarrrggghhhh!!!
I am staring at the screen with absolutely no idea of what to put on here at all. Isn`t it St Davids Day soon or has it gone? I know I keep seeing things to celebrate St David`s day, maybe that should be my theme. Mmmm. I`ll go and have a browse and see what I come up with.
Ahh.... St Davids Day was yesterday so I have missed the boat on that one.
I think instead I will put the new listing club for March on here instead. They are called the March Makers this month which does seem very apt. I wasn`t going to join this month but before I knew it I was looking through the thread and promoting everyone as normal. It`s obviously too ingrained as a habit now. So I did join after all.
For those who don`t know, there is a daily listing club on Folksy each month run by Natalie Ofkants of OFkants Curios. She starts the new thread each day and encourages and commiserates and cheers when required to keep us all going. It`s a great little community and we all help each other where possible, mainly by promoting each others work.
Yesterday I had intended to get out my paints out spurred on by the balmy weather, but it wasn`t to be. On the other hand, I took photos of some new things I managed to make and get finished yesterday. I think I told you about the dark blue lacy gloves. Well I made another pair in a red sparkly yarn and made a mug cosy and coaster set that I added flowers to as well as some embroidery. So I had a good day.

February has gone, March is here.
What is happening to this year?
It`s whizzing by ever faster
much quicker will be a disaster.
But I won`t think about that now,
here`s the new club to take a bow.
A great name and club, the March Makers.
These crafts will have plenty of takers.
Very soon March hares will abound
I`ve already seen a few around.
But that`s one for another day,
putting hares on here to play.
Delectable jewellery, a real delight
isn`t that a fabulous sight?
Cards, a cushion and a trinket dish,
something to sigh over and make a wish.
Bags and birds and yummy beads,
all of this really feeds
our need to see beauty and enjoy
it, confess now, don`t be coy.
Then if you feel like a shopping spree,
I won`t stand in your way. Not me!!

Crafty Passion #Etsy

Etsy crafts today. I joined a new team and espied some gorgeous crafts that I thought would be great to have on here. I have also been looking at some fabulous treasuries with gorgeous crafts in them too. Temptation is rife and so not good for me. I find myself thinking of who I could buy a particular item for as a present, knowing full well that I would keep it for myself.
I hadn`t looked through the thread properly until now and was blown away by the crafts I espied. There were so many more I could have included that were just so gorgeous. I could have kept going but then there would have been pages and pages just for todays blog. Bit like when I start waffling it would go on and on.
The passion these sellers have for their crafts just shines through in their wonderful creations. Mind you, all crafters have a passion for what they do, otherwise they wouldn`t do it.
Yesterday I was at work but still managed some crochet at lunchtime as always. Home from work and it was get the tea on the table and feed three of the grandchildren. The fourth was at his 13th tubing party with his friends and parents. After tea it was take them home and put the youngest two to bed and settle them down after a story and lots of cuddles.
Then it was time for some more crochet while I chatted to the eldest, my 14 year old grandaughter.
I really enjoy spending time with the children, they often make me laugh with the things they come out with. We do have fun together.
I finally got round to booking a holiday and it`s not far away either, the middle of April. We didn`t go away last year so have been saving for a cruise. Neither of us likes flying and once we discovered cruising we were hooked. Such a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

I`m starting to think of a holiday
a break from work, a time to play.
Sunlight sparkling on the sea
making shadows over me.
The moonlight`s gentle glow
as over sea and land it does flow.
Sea air making you feel good
helping a holiday do what it should
which is of course, relaxing
doing nothing more taxing
than taking a gentle stroll
hardly feeling the sea`s roll.
Maybe having a bit of a swim
doing whatever, on a whim.
Always eating far too much
seeing wonderful places we briefly touch
always soon moving on again
as the holiday begins to wane.
We bring home memories and extra pounds
though that`s not as bad as it sounds.
They very quickly melt away
while we dream of the next holiday!
