Gifts For Guys #Etsy

Continuing the theme of gifts for the men but this time from Etsy, so we get a nice range of gift ideas for you to choose from. As I said yesterday, we all know how difficult it can be to get them something, especially the older men.
I expected to find a lot but the choices were amazing. No problem with finding something for men on here, Etsy that is. Whatever the choice of words put into the search there was loads of choice.
So if you don`t see what you want here or in any of the shops on show, although that would surprise me as they all have so many great gifts, then head on over to Etsy for an even bigger selection to choose from. I warn you though it will take a while.
Didn`t seem to really get what I wanted done yesterday. Was doing alot but not achieving much. I did get a load of pics taken which was good but spent too much time faffing about with the editing. Picked the youngest grandson up from pre school and had both daughters and grandchildren here for tea. No cooking. Yay!! The youngest daughter got Chinese for us all. Can`t remember the last time we had that, it made a lovely change. Even got to bath the youngest too, or help. Haven`t done that in a while either. Had my oldest grandson do my ironing to earn pocket money too. All in all a good day.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

What do you buy for a man?
Quite frankly, whatever you can.
Quite difficult to know what to buy
until you find Etsy, then you sigh.
Now the problem is too much choice
and how big will be the invoice.
Once I start I might not stop
indecision has me on the hop.
What sort of gift do you seek,
looking for something for a geek?
No problem on here at all,
here geeks will have a ball.
Something here for everyone
get it quick before it`s gone.
Not a pair of socks in sight
that`s enough to make a light
click on and enthusiasm return
just take and peek and learn.
Who knew there was so much
at the end of a fingers touch
on a keyboard or a mouse
and all without leaving the house!!

Jingle Bells #Etsy

Even though I`d been at work yesterday I already had a theme for this blog. I`d thought of bells and that went into jingle bells for a more festive theme. Short on time, what a change, I decided to put everything I wanted to have on here into a treasury first and then they would all be together in one place. Much easier.
I am trying to be a bit innovative with my themes to make it more interesting for all you regular readers, after all I want you to keep coming back..... please.
I have taken a bit of a different turn with my crochet and decided to do some shrugs. I got some gorgeous yarn that`s acrylic, wool and mohair. It`s so soft and gorgeous and actually makes a beautiful shrug, nice and cosy for the chillier moments in the party season. Will double up as a great shoulder warmer on cooler evenings in the summer too. So useable all year round, what a great buy.
I just need to find a model and take some photos of the first one now that it`s finished. Have already started another. Can you tell I love making new designs.
Only have 1 needle book/case left now as the other have all sold. Just need to get some really nice white felt for finishing them. One needle felted picture is all ready to make up into a book and another one is under way. They pictures do take a while to do but I really enjoy the challenge of making them.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

It`s jingle bells all the way
and lot`s of bells here today.
On hats and collars to make a nice sound
bells ringing out all around.
Decorations and ornaments too
something here for each of you.
A vintage cow bell and one of clay
these will make someone`s day.
Bracelet and earrings set
such a nice gift to get.
Elf hat and T shirt for a baby
This is something you seek, maybe?
There`s a rainbow jester hat
with bells. How about that?
A lovely pic in black, red and white
such a gorgeous festive sight.
A lovely garland for your wall.
Is this what you want at all?
Lot`s of ideas for festive fun,
great to keep when Christmas is done!!

Owl Wisdom #Etsy

Today`s blog is for the Crafty Folk Featured Shop challenge winner, Kirsty of Made By Eden Grace.
For those that don`t know, we choose an item from the featured shop to build a treasury around. Then a random number generator is used to pick a treasury for the next weeks featured shop.
Making treasuries is fun and gives all those featured in them a wider exposure for their shop. For me it makes life easier as I have all the items together in one place to transfer to here. Result!
Kirsty`s bio says:
I live in Scotland and am a busy Mum to two beautiful little girls, Libby Eden (four) and Holly Grace (two). I started making plush toys when I was expecting little Holly. I wanted my baby to have a really special toy to love from the moment they entered the world. The toy I made, Spritekin, is still her favourite to cuddle. My girls inspire everything I make and do.
I'm forever doodling little sketches and ideas for new plushies. My little doodles are as close as I get to having a pattern for my toys. I love to create different characters and give them names and personalities to bring them to life!
All my items are hand-stitched with love.
Do have a browse through Kirsty`s shop to see her lovely creations and the other shops featured here as they all have so many more treasures for you to discover.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

There`s an owl sitting in a tree.
How many owls can you see?
Swooping through the deep dark wood
just as all the owls should.
Busy hunting for their prey,
more at night than by day.
They come in many a size
but all look so very wise.
I wonder how much they know.
Do they know more as they grow?
Slowly and sleepily they blink
and occasionally seem to wink.
Feathers that look so soft to touch.
Do they really think very much?
They always seem so cute
especially when they hoot.
So many of us find them sweet,
luckily not enough to eat.
People seem to have a love affair
with owls, but they don`t care.
They are so popular right now
as to their beauty we all bow!!

Festive Red #Folksy

Thought we`d have a Folksy blog today and go for a festive red. Let`s face it red with green or gold always seems very festive, come to that with any other colour it still looks festive at this time of year. I think red and white together make us think of Christmas the most, being so reminiscent of a Santa suit. Ho ho ho. Goodness me, just put it into the search on Folksy, Christmas Red, and there are 88 pages. This could take a while.
It certainly did take a while. You know me, always trying for variety to make your browsing more interesting.
Yesterday was sunny with a frosty start and the sky stayed blue all day, it was wonderful.
For a change I got everything done that I intended to, housework, sewing buttons on and taking lot`s of photos of new items. I also took some new pics of items that needed better photos. I use the term `better` loosely here as I am such a rubbish photographer. I am trying to improve... not sure I`m succeeding but I am making the effort.
Then last night I went out to dinner, with workmates, at Jamie Oliver`s restaurant. It hasn`t been opened long in Norwich so I`ll tell you what it was like tomorrow because I`m doing this blog early ready for my evening out.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

The magic is the in each child`s face
they don`t know of the manic race
to get it all done by the day
so they can have a magical day.
They`ll know in the morning that Santa has been,
be greeted by the biggest heap they`ve ever seen.
The wrappings so glittery and bright
ribbons and bows that sparkle in the light.
The paper will be torn away so fast
they don`t want to make it last.
They`ll all be up with the dawn
so excited while you hide a yawn.
So much to do and get done
before you can relax and have fun.
Take it all one step at a time
just as I do with this rhyme.
It always gets done in the end
even if it`s likely to send
you ever so slightly mad
when it`s here you`ll be glad!!
