Anyway, in plain English, that means we have lots of yummy goodies for you to look at.
Oh dear, there were so many wonderful creations that I kept adding, then eventually had to stop before I ran out of time to do the rest of the blog. If I had the time I would have added them all as they all deserve to be seen. But now it`s time to do a rhyme of some sort. I do wish I could be witty with my ditty, but unfortunately I can never think of witticisms, so you just have to endure the rhyme you get.
Looked after the grandchildren for the morning yesterday, well three of them anyway, the other one still had school. We started off at their house, then they decided they fancied doing some baking with the apples I still had left. I got them from my brothers tree, he lives round the corner, to add to the chutney I made the other day. I did make an apple crumble too the other day for the children, but yesterday we decided to make apple cake. The 12 yr old wanted to make that and then the 14 yr old made a tray cake of sponge with sultanas that has icing and sprinkles added to the top. We slightly overdid the apple cake, or rather I had some apples hanging over the side that dripped onto the tray beneath and caused a lot of burning and smoke. Oh dear. The cake itself was fine though. The base is mixed almost like a batter and the apples sliced on the top. Over them sugar and cinnamon, mixed together, is sprinkled liberally. Yum.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!
The children decided to bake
and so we made an apple cake.
Then we made a tray cake too,
little cakes, there were a few.
Then they wanted to stay for lunch,
they are such an endearing bunch.
Chat and laughter, lot`s of mess
I cleared it all up, I must confess.
Good fun was had by all,
it wasn`t hard work at all.
Did some more crochet, that was fun
three things on the go to be done.
I really should stop making more
cos things aren`t going out of the door.
Sales at the minute are really slow,
none to give me a happy glow.
Just need a few to get the fizz back
at the minute it`s what I lack.
Lot`s of folk in the same boat
needing sales to stay afloat.
So come one and all, support handmade,
you wouldn`t want the variety to fade.
So hop over to Folksy and have a spree
support us British sellers, not only me!
