Divine Treats #Handmade #Folksy

So many gorgeous bathtime treats available nowadays and best of all these are handmade with high quality ingredients, many of which are entirely natural. A lot of the handmade soaps can be used even on sensitive skin (it will say in the description)which has to be a bonus these days with so many people sensitive or allergic to a wide range of chemicals.
Many of these fabulous shops have a lot more delectable treats in their shops just waiting for you to discover them. For those late Christmas present shoppers, any of these would make great gifts.

Yesterday I looked after my grandson while his Mum worked and we took a trip into the city. We didn`t stay too long as it was raining but we did have a bit of a wander. I got a couple of things I needed and he enjoyed a look in the shops that took his fancy. Then it was home for lunch and then a short play till it was time to go home.
Yesterday all the other grandchildren finished school early for the Christmas break. So this is it now, the count down to the big day with high excitement in spades.

Cute & Gorgeous #FolksyFriday

I started off with a theme today as you can see. It was going to be all things cute and amusing. Then the search went down on Folksy and I couldn`t find anything at all. Still I suspect these things are sent to try us. So instead I went onto the forums to look about and add things at random. Gorgeous crafts that caught my eye.
So today it might be random but as usual they are fabulous crafts worthy of viewing. Hope you like them as much as I do.
Yesterday we got the Christmas decorations out and decked our home. The christmas tree was set up in readiness for the grandchildren to help me to put everything on it. This has become something we love to do and they always seem to like hearing where the various decorations come from.
Ours is always a traditional tree with decorations that belonged to parents and things I bought over the years with my daughters when they were young. I still smile when I think of my grandaughter, now 14, as a little tot sitting in the box of decorations surrounded by tinsel.
I was telling the story to the youngest two grandchildren and they promptly climbed in to the box and wrapped tinsel around them, they looked so cute I had to take a picture.
We all had a great time and then had a paper lantern making session followed by drawing and colouring after tea. Good fun all round.

Can you feel it building in the air,
do you look around, stop and stare?
It`s everywhere you go, just sizzling
grab it quick before it starts fizzling
out, just grab the lovely feeling,
forget the wheeling and dealing.
It`s Christmas spirit and so exciting,
look around at all the lighting.
Sparkles and shimmers everywhere
happy faces here and there.
More cheery than we`ve seen for a while
so many faces with a big smile
as Christmas spirit takes a hold
and bah humbug disappears in a fold.
Not that spirit that alcoholic kind
although that is about I find.
I mean the good old fashioned fun
that leaves good memories when the season`s done.
So hold on tight and get ready
don`t worry about being steady
throw yourself into the season
you don`t need any other reason!!

Crafts & Grumpy Verse #Handmade #Folksy

No particular theme today just fabulous crafts for you to gaze upon and enjoy. Oh and to help with any gifts still needed. Can you believe it? 10 days to Christmas Day. AAAaaargh!!!!!! Anyone else panicking yet? No? Well you should be, if not for yourself, then for me. Tee Hee! Not really panicking at all, that got you going didn`t it. Just trying to inject a little humour, that`s all.
Yesterday I babysat my youngest grandson while his mum worked. We had such an exciting time... going to Sainbury`s and Aldi, followed by the local veggie shop. We really know how to live, it`s just non stop fun and excitement here you know. In between though we had lunch and read some books. Bless him, he`s so good, doesn`t make a fuss at all. He did ask to go to the city, so I promised that we would go tomorrow. Which actually is quite heroic of me as I am trying to avoid the place with the manic crowds and long queues everywhere.
Have you noticed that in the papers they keep saying that the High Street is dying? Maybe if they separated the tills so the queues looked manageable they would keep more customers. The sight of a long queue snaking way back has me dumping my prospective purchases and leaving the store, preferably for one that wants customers. And maybe even likes them enough to provide staff for old fashioned customer service.
Bit of a hobbyhorse of mine that. Did you notice?
I think I`m getting less patient with some things as I get older and queues in shops are one of the main things. I`m the irate customer demanding to know why they have all those tills if they don`t bother to open them. Just avoid me, or better still add your voice to mine. Yay!!

Have you braved a city recently?
They can`t call us customers, decently.
Customer means service we don`t get
in case you hadn`t noticed it`s a pet
hate of mine that they don`t seem to care,
after all, aren`t we always there?
They used to want customers to call
and most often would almost fall
over themselves to give us assistance,
sometimes irritating with persistance.
So what`s the standard reply today,
not on the shelf, we haven`t got it, they say.
No one says, I`ll go have a look,
that would be better, in my book.
Instead you`re lucky if they speak at all,
that`s why shops are riding for a fall.
Have you been glared at for interrupting chat?
Whatever they are paid for it`s not that!
Now I feel mean because they aren`t all the same
to some it`s so much more than a game.
There are the few who go out of their way
to really help and make your day.
It`s a shame they are so few and far between
and that`s if they can even be seen.
So shops need to pull up their socks,
else they`ll no longer see customers in flocks!

A quick blog as feeling a bit shivery and shaky. Not sure what I`ll put on here but I`m sure to find something. Okay off for a quick look.

Nothing much to report as I was at work yesterday. Although I did finish the unisex scarf I was working on and have started a pair of fingerless mitts in a wonderful chunky marbled acrylic in shades of blue and brown. I really like them and they aren`t finished yet.
Nothing like blowing my own trumpet is there.
I have run out of waffle so I will carry straight on and do the verse. Mkae the most of it as it`s a very rare thing for me.
