Like an artists palette, I see the trees
blowing so gently in the breeze.
The leaves, the colours as they turn,
some so bright they seem to burn.
One falls and then another
following their sister or brother.
Autumn is really starting to bite
the panoply of colour such a sight.
Reds and yellows side by side
getting ready for that last ride.
That last fall to the ground,
joinig other leaves all around.
They swirl and blow into a heap.
It`s so futile to try and keep
them contained all together
especially in the windy weather.
Forget that you want a lovely neat pile,
give in to nature, enjoy it and smile!!

Cute Critturs #FolksyFriday

Blimey, these Folksy Friday`s come round faster and faster. I`m sure it`s only five minutes since the last one.
Anyway, I`m digressing already and I`ve barely started. Back on track.
Todays Folksy Friday came about because I saw a cute animal and instantly thought `cute critturs` would make a good blog. All manner of cute animals are very popular, especially sock animals.
When you see the intricacy and detail on these animals it`s hard to believe they started as a sock. Although now there are many crocheted and knitted as well as made from fabric.
I haven`t done one of these before, I don`t think, or if I have it`s been a very long time since I have. So this will make a nice change.
Yesterday I looked after my youngest grandson for a few hours but we didn`t want to go into the city. He still wanted to go on the bus so I suggested a short trip to the supermarket instead. He liked that idea. It`s easily walkable but for him, bless him, the bus is a big attraction.
We got ourselves some things for lunch and even though his Mum was home by that time he decided to have lunch at my house.
Managed to get some photos done before the sun vanished, not all, but a few is better than none.

A patchwork quilt as far as the eye can see
as I sit and watch the countryside flee
from the window of the train
safe and snug from the sweeping rain.
A grey dull day, no sign of sun
makes the journey a bit less fun.
There`s some cows, a flock of sheep.
Those laying down, do they sleep?
Heavier rain obscuring the view
maybe now that`s my cue.
To get out pen and paper to write
all about the passing sight.
Otherwise the memory of this rhyme
will begin to fade in time.
So I`ll write it now for all to see
because my rhyming is not just for me.
I love to share what I do
especially when it`s for you.
Whatever form of my latest creation
I love to share with every nation!!

Tasty Turquoise #Etsy

After a day at work yesterday the old brain was once again lacking in ideas on what to put on here for you. So I went and caught up on the daily threads I list on (listing clubs). It was there on Etsy that I spied a few turquoise creations that whetted my appetite and made me look further. And so Tasty Turquoise was born.
Pages full of tasty tempting treats to brighten your life. What could be better? It`s such a beautiful, vibrant colour that I find it quite cheering.
As I said I was at work yesterday and came home very weary after a day of rushing about. I did as usual do some crocheting at lunchtime as I find it immensely relaxing. In fact at times I get close to nodding off, never happens when I`m sitting at home. I also did more in the evening and have several new items to photograph.
Just when I could have some time to take the pics it`s supposed to rain, such a pain, so it will be too dark without using artificial light. I soooo need someone who loves to take pics for fun and would enjoy taking great photos for me. Any takers?

There was a frost this morning
appearing as the day was dawning.
It didn`t stay very long, turned wet,
just seems far too early and yet
it is October, so maybe it`s not,
but I`m dreaming of somewhere hot.
Leaves are falling far too fast.
Last year the greenery seemed to last
right into December because it was mild.
Unlike this year, with weather so wild.
I predict a long winter and very cold
when venturing out will be for the bold.
With snow that seems to go on forever,
a vision like that isn`t very clever.
I hope I`m wrong and it`s not all doom,
don`t like these cold, dark nights of gloom.
Bright crisp days are so much better
makes me feel alert, like a go getter.
Full of bounce in warming sunlight
through the window enjoying the sight!

Love Hearts #Etsy

A treasury I curated for this weeks featured seller, Little Harriet. I hope she has a really good week like I did when I was fortunate enough to be selected.
Her bio says:
I started making jewellery about 5 years ago after a very good friend sent me a “how to” book and a packet of beads and thread… I was hooked and after lots and lots of shiny thing purchasing, I have decided if I want to continue my bead buying habit, I need a way to fund it.
I seem to mainly make bright, colourful things, I think I must be part magpie. I love charms, the more unusual the better and I never seem to be able to say no to glass.
That her fascination for `shiny things` has become so much more is very evident in Little Harriet`s lovely jewellery. Do have a browse round her shop as well as all the others featured here.
My weekend visiting family was great fun. We went out for lunch on Saturday which involved lots of laughter and talking. We were fed Sunday lunch by a family member that was just delicious and that too involved non stop talking and much more laughter. So I`m almost talked out, had a very relaxing time and did lot`s of crochet too, not to mention dog walking in the sunshine enjoying all the gorgeous Autumn colours.

wandering happily without a care.
Spotting all the coloured leaves
that nature makes as she weaves
the tapestry of Autumn bright
in the gorgeous warming sunlight.
Reds and golds, oranges too
all make for a fabulous view.
Lunch out with lot`s of laughter
memories to be treasured after.
Catching up on all the news
no time at all for winter blues.
There`s nothing like a family fix
with plenty of laughter in the mix.
