E is for ... #Etsy

Today I am going for E in the alphabet. Not sure how many I`ll find but I`ll give it a go.
Worked out quite well with it being the Etsy site I`m selecting from, quite fortuitous.
Here goes then. E is for Elephant, Ebony, Elf, Eagle, Emerald and Eiffel. Eiffel is of course as in Eiffel tower of Paris renown.
Now I`ve thought them up it`s time to see what I can find.
Definitely impressed with my discoveries today. Found some fabulous variations on each separate word. Hope you like them as much as I do.
Yesterday morning It was very cloudy but as the sun started rising below the horizon a streak of gold appeared to glow on the horizon. I kept an eye on it as I worked to see if there would be more of a show and nature didn`t disappoint at all.
Despite the gloomy grey of the morning it was quite a spectacular show that really brightened my morning, holding me riveted to the window until it was done.
Seeing something like that makes me wish I could capture it. I`ve tried taking photos of the sunrise and of sunsets but clearly the camera isn`t up to the job and my photographic skills certainly aren`t.
Somehow I just don`t get the glorious colours that glow with such luminosity which is what I`m really trying to capture. Oh well, one day.

Here comes a sliver of light,
it is pushing back the night.
The sun is rising on another day
and I see it, this is my way.
A line of gold is glowing
despite the wind blowing
it holds still and steady
as the world once more gets ready
to welcome the day`s start
as darkness begins to depart.
The sky turns red and pink
so fast it makes me blink.
It fades away and orange flares
the sun rises and fiercely glares.
I shield my eyes with my hand
as it breaks free from the land.
The beauty of a glorious sunrise
never fails to give me a surprise.
The light it brightens up my world
as the day is slowly unfurled.
Know that the light is always there
to see it you just have to Care!!

D is for.... #FolksyFriday

Still going with the alphabet theme and onto D today. I haven`t got bored with it yet so that`s always a bonus especially as we are only 4 letters in, including today`s.
Today of course is Folksy Friday day and all the crafts are from Folksy. Stating the obvious I know.
Can`t believe that Christmas is so close. I think I have gone into denial now because it`s crept up so fast. Eeeek!
As yet I have no idea what D will be for. Although having spent a few hours at the hospital for an appointment for my hubby I was getting him to think about things with the letter D. Have to say they went from the sublime to the ridiculous, I think it`s a boy thing to think up daft ideas, but I did get a few usable ones, I hope.
Here we go. D is for Dandelion, Dragon, Dice, Doll, Dolphin and Dinosaur. Was delighted with the creations I found and hope you are too and enjoy having a browse.
Today is of course the 21.12.12. The supposed end of the world date. The youngsters are still not entirely sure about it. I was talking again with my 13 yr old grandson about it the other night. Despite all the discussions we have had I think he is still a bit concerned which is a shame. The biggest shame is the way the media portray it all as doom and gloom, natural I suppose, after all it`s horror stories that have people buying papers and watching TV programmes. They should have more sense though.

and it`s all for Folksy Friday.
I found creations just for you
though at first I didn`t have a clue.
Dragons now, them I didn`t mind,
fun and cute I think you`ll find.
Dandelions are beautiful and bright
such a very cheery sight.
Dolphins, I didn`t hold out much hope
but hey, I found enough to cope.
The Dice was quite a surprise
and they were quite a prize.
Dolls now, lot`s of those
but quite a question they did pose.
All actual dolls or variety there too
I went for variety especially for you.
Dinosaurs, last but not least
for them there was quite a feast.
But now at last I have done
now go browse and have fun!!

C is for... #Etsy

Continuing the alphabet theme and today is C. This time from Etsy, so I shall see what I can find for you.
Let me see now. C is for .... Cat, Chair, Car, Candle, Cherry and Cake. I did have a few different ones to begin with but some were too generic and I found better ones as I went along.
I`m quite pleased with what I`ve found for you and hope you like them too. Have to say this one was easier than I though it would be once I got my thinking cap on.
So are you all ready for Christmas yet? Got all the cards done and sent, the pressies all bought? My cards are all done. The gifts aren`t all wrapped yet, but I think I`ve bought them all. I do tend to keep a few spares just in case there was a glaring oversight on my part and someone was forgotten. After all those can always be used for gifts for other occasions, like birthdays etc. Food... hmm. Not really that much to get as I shall be at my daughters on Christmas Day, although I will be entertaining on Boxing Day, so just that to get for.
I can remember when it was all non stop entertaining and being entertained for 2 weeks over the Christmas period but sadly, that`s a thing of the past. I think that as you get older it doesn`t seem so important, having lot`s of parties or going to them. Or maybe that`s just us.

Today we have the letter C.

We have different types of cake
not the sort that you bake.
Three different types of chair
looking very good to be fair.
Had more of a challenge with cat.
The Cat cave though, how about that?
Candles that are really cute,
different sorts that should suit.
Love the cars that I found,
so many different ones around.
Cherries that look good enough to eat,
so yummy, they can`t be beat.
The letter C brought many a choice
once I found my alphabet voice!!
