G is for ... #Etsy

Today I think we`ll head back to alphabet land and continue with the theme started before the Christmas festivities. Hard to believe that it`s over already, another memory in the past.
Today it`s the turn of Etsy and the letter G.
I have no idea at all what I will find or even, as yet, what to have for the letter G, so I shall go in search of inspiration.
Hmmm.... let`s see. G is for Golf, Giraffe, Galaxy, Gnome, Guitar and Green. Now I just have to find some creations in those categories.
Well a couple of the categories changed so not bad at all and it didn`t take toooooo long to find them all.
I hope you like my choices and they don`t baffle you too much. Think of it as a puzzle to work out, although you should work out easily which category they all belong to.
Maybe I should have put them all in order.
I had a very enjoyable afternoon playing with one of my new toys. A scanner that scans all sorts of things, so I was playing around testing it and adjusting the settings. Now I have a pile of discarded cardboard and paper, not to mention an empty ink cartridge. Doh!

Today we have the letter G
and I`m hoping that you will see
just what category each will belong
to, that means I didn`t get it wrong.
Really a mug should be M
but it didn`t go with them
instead I used the colour, green
so that today it`s seen.
Now N isn`t for gnome
it`s G and waiting for a home.
The others are what they seem
and that guitar is a dream.
So many yummy treats for you
although maybe there are too few.
I could have gone on adding even more,
such varieties in just one store.
So many shops at the click of a mouse,
to browse through from the house.
So many shops now have extra views
just because it`s hard to choose.
But I finally got it all done
especially for you to have fun!!

Stylish Home #FolksyFriday

Well today it`s back to Folksy Friday and for a nice change I thought I would hunt up some very stylish pieces for your home.
The decor and all those little touches that add up to the finished effect can make all the difference to your living space. It can make your house into a home that you enjoy spending time and relaxing in. Very important in today`s life of constant rush with the the endless bombardment of noise.

Yesterday I took my 13 year old grandson shopping but it was so busy and manic in the city that it was hard work and we had to be back in time for visitors. My brother, sister in law and two of my nephews came to visit and it was wonderful to see them, to catch up etc as we hadn`t had the chance for a while. Life gets so busy that sometimes it can be hard to take the time to make the connections that are so important.

SALE TIME!! #Folksy

Today we are seeing some Sale items from Folksy. Yep I know that`s stating the obvious because of the title but it`s just in case you missed it.
I prepared this blog yesterday afternoon so it would be done and ready for today and finished with before my visitors arrived for tea and evening festivities.
I got all the baking done in the morning, sausage rolls and mince pies once more and bread too this time. We`ll have had home cooked gammon ham, turkey and prawns with lots of salad and other yummy things, not to mention a divine cheesecake and gorgeous roulade for dessert.
Must get off that subject, food, as it`s making me hungry. Unbelievable really after all the food I managed to consume yesterday. It was so delicious though it would have been rude not to. That`s what my younger daughter always says and I have to say I agree with her.
Anyway, back on the subject of the blog, I keep digressing.
As we all know Sales are everywhere now but none so good as those on line. It`s that time of year that crafter`s look through their stock and decide what to keep making and what is going to end. Some, like me, are exploring other avenues and therefore marking down much of their stock quite drastically.
There is something about a New Year that makes us all take the time to think about the direction we want to go in. That`s not just creative folk either. At this time of year with Christmas over and New year looming many take a hard look at their lives and consider the direction of it and where they want to be at the same time next year.
There`s food for thought for you.

With the New year looming
folks wonder why they aren`t blooming
where their lives are going
and what seeds need to be sowing.
They wonder `am I happy and content
is this the way it is meant
to be all the rest of my life
with so much endless strife?
Many now examine the direction
to see if any correction
is needed to vastly improve
life and get out of the same old groove.
It`s easy to get stuck in a rut
and tell yourself maybe and but
it`s the same for each and everyone.
Why upset it all and be the one
to admit this is not they way
to stand up and have your say?
That first step is the hardest to take
even though it`s for your own sake.
It won`t be easy, but it`ll be worthwhile
and life will become one big Smile!!

Boxing Day Sales #Etsy

I know it`s a bit quick but apparently lots of people do like to go to the sales on Boxing Day.
By now the presents will have long since been opened and Christmas dinner is just a memory. I hope you all had a wonderful day, however you celebrate and are looking forward to more of the same today.
My Christmas Day was perfect, spent with family with a delicious lunch that left us all very stuffed but we still managed to force down some tea that was equally yummy. We played games and had fun with the children`s toys. The 6 year old grandson had an all terrain remote control car with huge wheels that could go anywhere even in water. So he and I went out on the road, with me keeping a careful watch for stray cars, while he sent it through deep puddles and mud pools. It was great fun.
There was lot`s of talk and plenty of laughter too. A day of memories made to treasure.
For some, family members will be heading home, for others, more arriving.
My thoughts are with the poor souls who are flooded out of their homes. Somehow the time of year makes it seem worse. Although I have to say that it must be horrendous at any time of year.
Today I shall be busy baking more mince pies, sausage rolls and bread in readiness for visitors this afternoon.
