Titan & Robots #Etsy

I`m doing this blog about Robots because yesterday I took my two youngest grandchildren into the city and we saw a robot.
It was sheer chance that we got to see it. I saw a blog that mentioned it had come to a park in their town and commented that I wish it would come to Norwich. Edwina, the blogger, very kindly sent me a message saying that it was appearing here the next day. She sent a link so I could check times as well. How`s that for amazing, she is such a star. Her shop is on Folksy and is called `Handmade by Edwina` in case you should want to look. Or you could scroll back some blogs and find one that I did on her shop after winning 1st prize in her blog giveaway.
Anyway I am digressing. Like I don`t do that often.
We almost didn`t make it as a bus didn`t turn up and the next one was late. I had to go to the bank and the queue was horrendous, I had to wait 20 minutes. I had been in another shop and had a wait in a queue until I gave up.
We ended up running to be in time to see the robot Titan but it was definitely worth it. Both the children were a bit wary and had no intention of standing anywhere near it so I could get a photo of them. I have to say though that it was very big and could move with speed. It also sung, sprayed the crowd with water and told jokes. Very amusing. I was amazed at how good it was, all the children and parents seemed to love it. Quite an experience.
Who knew a robot could sing?
It really was quite a thing
to see and was so very tall.
Not once did it fall.
It ran so fast, quite a shock
in something solid as a rock.
Titan by name and size,
it really was quite a prize.
Telling jokes that made us laugh,
absolutely nothing done by half.
It squirted water at the crowd
and really was very loud.
In mock terror children screamed
at times quite scary it seemed.
But all in all the way it was done
was purely half an hour of fun.
A wonderful experience, great to see
for the grandsons, as well as me!!

Augusteers #FolksyFriday

Folksy Friday today and a new listing club for the daily listers on Folksy. This month`s club is the Augusteers and it`s great to see new as well as familiar faces. I am taking part once again, just can`t help myself, it`s very addictive. I used to go on the listing thread on the Folksy forum, even when I wasn`t taking part, for a look through.
I added more than I intended too but still didn`t manage to get everyone on here. I had to stop somewhere but hopefully will get the others on here next time.
It`s wonderful to see different crafters diversifying and coming up with amazing new creations. So much temptation but also very handy for earmarking different things as gifts. We all know how the year is racing away and that it`s now less than 5 months to a certain big event. Should I say it..... You know that word that begins with C...? Okay, okay, I can feel you all holding up your hands in horror. I`ll wait a week or two... tee hee!!
I am already making winter items as you know. Another hat finished and starting a beret. They are piling up quicker than I can photograph them and certainly quicker than I can get them listed. I shall be off for just over a week very soon and very likely will get lot`s more made.

As a reply to a query on yesterdays blog
I said poems were easy, now all is a fog.
The basics of verse have faded away
maybe they`ve gone on holiday.
I`m tired of writing about the weather
it`s so grey, I`m at the end of my tether.
With verse vanished in the mists of time
about, what on earth, shall I rhyme?
I`m sitting here with rain so dreary
that it`s making me feel quite weary.
Maybe I should write about money
that can often be quite funny.
No? Then how about the full moon?
That will fade away all too soon.
How about a scarf and hat?
NOoo, please don`t throw that.
Okay, I think it`s time to concede
this is a mish mash, yes indeed.
This isn`t poetry by any means
and yet I now feel full of beans!!

August CraftyFolk #Etsy

A new month and new listing clubs. That should be new daily listing clubs. Every month being a part of a daily listing club helps me and others to be more disciplined about listing each day, or most days anyway. It`s nice to be part of a group and chat about day to day events and encourage each other. The passion for crafting is something other crafters understand in a way that people who don`t have the urge to create often can`t.
Do have a browse through these lovely shops if you get the chance, you never know what treasures you will unearth.
Yesterday I was working but as usual at lunchtime and in the evening I was crocheting. I got another hat finished and the next one is half done. I really have to make the time to get more of the new ones listed. If someone has some spare hours in their day could I borrow them please.
These last couple of days I feel like a dog chasing it`s tail. Going round in circles but never quite catching up.
I have a sneaking suspicion that it`s exactly the same for everyone else.

Like a maniac I chase my tail
the past few days I`m doomed to fail.
So much to do and so little time.
So why am I writing this rhyme?
Well it`s nice to have a little fun
and this ditty will soon be done.
Lot`s seem to like the daft verse,
let`s face it, it could be worse.
How much worse I`m not sure
maybe I should search for a cure.
Is there a cure for crafting too,
or having too much to do?
My home would then be very neat
at the minute that`s quite a feat.
I`d rather crochet than clean
although I do the bits that are seen.
Always something better to do
like creating things just for you.
Or playing with grandkids, having fun
much better than work to be done.
Well I manage to get through most
of it and that deserves a toast!!

Seaside Fun #Etsy

I`ve decided that despite the weather turning again I am going for a seasidey beach type theme. I haven`t had one, I don`t think and after all it is summer, even if it doesn`t feel like it again.
Yesterday was so blustery and when it rained it really threw it down, not nice at all.
Anyway I am digressing again. Beach, Seaside. I shall put on here items related to this theme because it`s nice to dream that we might get some nice weather back again.... Fingers crossed eh?
I started this yesterday afternoon as I had a meeting to go to early evening, imagine my horror when I returned at 8.30 p.m to find that the Etsy site was down. I thought I hadn`t finished putting the pictures on here but to my relief I discovered I had. Phew. I had visions of getting up at 4.30 a.m just to get it done so it could go out on time. Very lucky that I started it early.
I was very pleased with myself yesterday as the day before I had taken photos of quite a few of my new creations and I managed to get alot of the pictures prepared for when I start listing them. Hopefully I will make a start on that today. There have been a few items put in different shops but there are still so many to be done. Not to mention more to be photographed. So much to do and so little time, the eternal cry of every crafter.

The rain came down just like before
as if we really needed more.
It really isn`t much fun
without the blue sky and sun.
The day usually starts so well,
it`s then going downhill I can tell.
The wind is usually the giveaway
shouting there`ll be cloud today.
The trees waving frantically to and fro
tells us we won`t long feel the sun`s glow.
We had a week but it wasn`t enough
to get to do all the summer stuff.
Is it really too much to ask,
is it really so hard a task
for Mother Nature to get into gear
and give us a summer this year?
But then, if it stayed nice
would our small talk suffice?
We all talk about the weather
whenever a few get together.
Perhaps we just all like to complain
that the weather is driving us insane!
