Pretty in Pink #Etsy

Thought we`d have the creations that I picked out for a treasury I did on Thursday. It was for the CraftyFolk teams Shop Promo Challenge and for a change I got in there first.
Regular readers know that the person who did the best treasury from the previous week gets to have their shop promoted with treasuries etc for the next week. They have to select an iten from their shop for us all to build our treasuries around. Amazing all the different treasuries that get done from the same item.
The winner was Deborah of `Deborah Jones Jewelry` and the first picture is a gorgeous pair of earrings from her shop.
Deborah`s shop bio says:
I have been making and selling jewelry since my teens, I was fortunate enough to do some weekend courses with the jeweler Michael Bolton, who was a great inspiration, following school I went to the John Cass art school in London where I studied art and design, and specialised in jewelry making, whilst also working "a kind of apprenticeship" for the jeweler Lesley Craze both in her workshop and gallery.
I believe my creative style must stem from a childhood surrounded by African and Indian art. As souvenirs from business trips my father would bring me Ashanti gold weights or carved beads (unusual gifts for a small child, but I treasured them, and have them in my workshop today.)
I'm not sure if I was always destined to make jewelry , or whether it was deliberate avoidance of doing something more academic, whichever, I love making, and it's a thrill when other people love what I've made.
I mostly sell through galleries and craftfairs here in the U.K. So it is exciting for me to show my work internationally.
Her shop is filled with very unique and beautiful designs and show how passionate she is about her craft.
I think it`s nice to have a little insight into the different shop owners, see what makes them tick and where their inspiration comes from.
Do have a browse through all these lovely shops but don`t blame me if you have the urge to splurge.

What do you think of pink,
does it really make the boys wink?
Is it just for a little girl,
who wants to preen and twirl?
Vivid pink is so bold and bright
it says look at me, I`m a lovely sight.
All these shades they make you think.
What am I saying when I wear pink?
Pastel says demure and sweet,
a nicer person you couldn`t meet.
Darker shades say, I know who I am,
I`m a person who likes a bit of glam.
This is my opinion of course
that I wouldn`t ever want to force
upon another at any time
even during this rhyme.
It`s all just a bit of fun
gone when the day is done.
But girls will still look pretty in pink,
at least, that`s what I think!!

Crafty Fox #FolksyFriday

Not quite sure why I decided on Foxes for todays Folksy Friday. I was browsing the forums and the new listings when I saw a lovely cushion with a leaping hare on it, quite how I went from that to foxes I`m not sure but I did. So today we have lot`s of foxes for you.
I thought I had stopped being surprised by the amount of listings on any subject I typed in, but on this I was surprised. There were only 5 pages, but there were such a variety of crafts available with foxes on. I think I have managed to get a greatly diverse selection to show you. I hope you like them too.
Yesterday... hmmm... What did I do? Of course! I spent a few hours needle felting. I decided to abandon the computer. As there is always something to do on here with regard to the shops etc I decided switching off was the best way to get something done. Not only something, but a something I really enjoy. I needlefelted two pictures of sunsets. Both based loosely upon pictures I have painted. I think I might make them into hanging decorations with a soft filling. Sort of a piece of art to hang up and move about where you please. Kind of different as the picture will be on both sides, going all the way round and then can be turned for a different view. Foxes once ran wild and free
in countryside as far as the eye can see.
Now though we often live side by side
no longer is open land so wide.
Bit by bit they take it by stealth
just to add to their wealth.
Wildlife is the main loser
with no spokeperson as an accuser.
Where once they lived and ran
is now part of a builders plan.
So often they are thin and weak
unable to find the food they seek.
They hunt now in the urban jungle
a task that they often bungle.
Unable to get into bins
nothing left in rinsed out tins.
Now where do they lay their head
and find a place to make their bed?
They aren`t so wild anymore
as they appear at wondow and door.
Considered nothing but a pest.
The poor fox gets no chance to rest!!

Spooky Halloween #Etsy

I was tempted to have more Christmas goodies on here today, but from Etsy this time. I almost did and then I saw a pic on facebook with loads of lit pumpkins and there was a rhyme on it, author unknown. Somehow though it didn`t seem quite finished and I found myself continuing the rhyme on from the last row of words. Can`t recall the rhyme now but I wrote down what I made up using the last line of that rhyme for the first one of my rhyme.
Not 100% sure the first line is exactly the same because the post has vanished must have been an old one. Strangely there were several old ones that appeared in my timeline yesterday morning, some are still there but that one has gone. Well, it`s served it`s purpose I suppose.
Yesterday morning I got up with a thumping headache after a very restless night. Could have been due to the fact I had a tax appointment except I wasn`t worried as I had done everything required. My brain though just wouldn`t shut off for hours and I tried everything.
Still my tax is now done and dusted for another year, much to my relief, so now I can relax and think of other things. Yay! Like.... crafting, even more Yay!! As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.

For this is Halloween
with scary sights to be seen.
Eyes that glow in the dark
shouting boo for a lark.
Don`t mind a witch or a wizard
wouldn`t want to meet a walking lizard.
There`ll be ghosts dressed all in white
more of a cute than scary sight.
Pumpkin lanterns with that grin
looking too nice would be a sin.
Instead they should be evil and scary
to frighten even the most wary.
Skeletons will walk the street
not a good one to meet.
Vampires too, trailing blood,
hope it doesn`t become a flood.
Creepy and crawly runs the spider,
I`ll skirt round that much wider.
Trick or treaters at the door
dropping goodies on the floor.
It`s a scary, fun and spooky night
with many an enjoyable sight!!

Chosen by Me #Folksy

Thought we would have some gorgeous creations from Folksy today. I decided not to go with a theme but to have a wander and pick out various items that I really like. All of these wonderful crafts really appeal to me for one reason or another. The style, the colours, the shapes or just because they are amazing. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Always good too to be keeping an eye out for gifts and not just for that big occasion looming ever closer. Shall I say it? Shall I? Why not..... Christmas! There that wasn`t so bad was it? Shall I tell you how close it is? About 10 or 11 weeks to go I think, could even be less than that.
Last year I spotted a countdown widget and put it on here, perhaps I`ll have to have a look and find one. At least that way I`ll keep a close eye on it and not panic at the last minute at how close it has got.
Not much to report here as I was at work all day yesterday, so nothing exciting there.
Today I`m finishing off all my tax stuff to go visit the tax man tomorrow. Eeeek! Although I have to say it was much easier last year than I thought it would be. Fingers crossed that it`s the same this year.

I`m feeling just a little bit daft
not a good time to ply my craft.
Better to try and attempt witty
for this little rhyming ditty.
Maybe I should do a jig
or go and try on a wig.
Perhaps I`ll do a little dance
or even just preen and prance.
Nope, none of those appeal
just don`t know how I feel.
I`ll look in the mirror and make faces
putting it through it`s paces.
If nothing else it`ll make me giggle
embarassment could make me wriggle.
I really shouldn`t ought
to do that, I might get caught.
By hubby and he`ll think I`m daft
and should really be doing my craft.
Nah, he`s used to my funny ways
after all, he sees them most days!
