Thought we`d have some brightness to combat the grey, maybe it will bring some sunshine. Although to be fair we did have a bit of sunshine in between the odd showers and cloud.
It could have been worse.
Could have been better too, although that is apparently heading our way, the better that is. Yay!!
Was meant to get some things yesterday while I was out but didn`t really do much after all. Didn`t feel quite right, so we sat and had coffee, looked in a shop and then had lunch.
I felt really tired for some reason, despite a good nights sleep, probably fighting a virus or something. That`s the usual thing.

Spring is sprung, the grass is growed
but somehow spring hasn`t flowed.
We get a few seasons in a day
but not much that we can say.
Mother Nature does her thing
we get by on a prayer and wing.
In Britain we just have a groan
followed unfortunately by many a moan.
What would we say without the weather
it seems to bring us all together.
I wonder would we ever talk at all
without bad weather on which to call.
Here it is endless it seems
the chat of constant weather themes.
Will spring ever come or not
is the summer likely to be hot?
Could it rain all summer long
or will the forecasters be wrong?
For us it`s almost like a celebration
the endless weather speculation!!

Seaside Fun #Etsy

With the rain pouring down summer seemed very far away, so I couldn`t resist going in search of some beach themed items to cheer everyone up.
I found a wonderful array all of these and much more on Etsy, it was a hard job choosing which ones to use. Hope you enjoy my choices.

I did all the preparation yesterday morning, for the grandchildren coming for tea. I like to make something that can be done in advance so that I`m not spending the time making it all while they are here. I like to be able to have the time to do things with them and chat while the oven is doing it`s thing.
I made a beef cobbler and potato cakes.
For those that don`t know what this is, it`s mince beef prepared and cooked as though for a cottage pie then instead of potato, scones go on the top. Cheese scones to be precise. It makes a nice change. I made potato cakes too as after a busy day at school they are very hungry.

It was a rather frosty start
so pretty it warmed my heart.
Then the clouds came rolling in
these days we just can`t win.
Yes, you guessed, it wasn`t long
how I wished that you were wrong.
The rain swept in, pitter patter
quite light, it didn`t matter.
Not long before it made me frown
was the way it tipped it down.
So hard, bouncing off the floor
didn`t want to go out the door.
But it was time for the school run
and still the rain wasn`t done.
In spite of coats we got wet
and it still isn`t done yet!!

Luscious Leaves #Etsy

What a change in the weather yesterday, it was like winter again, wet and cold. Brrrr! As a contrast I decided to have lots of luscious leaves on here because it`s spring.
It IS spring, whatever it`s doing weather wise.

I had a trip to the Post Office and got wet as it decided to tip it down even harder at that time. Did a lot of boring stuff, editing photos, preparing listings, housework etc. All things that need to be done unfortunately. I much prefer to be crafting.
I have however decided that I must start doing one thing at a time. Such as getting beads sewn onto glass and bowl covers, before getting on with making books.
My trouble is that I get an idea and want to have a go straight away, regardless of whatever I`m in the middle of. That leads to various piles of half finished things that I have a dabble at before moving on. Not good.
I will do better...... maybe.

What I wonder, about a leaf
is, do they ever feel grief?
I know a plant feels pain
but do they feel the rain?
Do they know very much
can they feel a touch?
I also wonder do they hear
and if so is it clear?
Do others wonder this too?
I really don`t have a clue.
Do you examine things and ask
just what is their task?
So very much that I don`t know
such thoughts make my mind blow.
I just need to know much more
even if it makes my head sore!!

Daffodils #Etsy

Yesterday started off bright and frosty, was a bit temperamental during the day but did manage to stay dry. Looked a bit iffy at times but it always blew over.
The sunshine was lovely though, the yellow reminding me of all the daffodils I saw at the weekend. It had me searching for anything daffodil and I`m delighted to say that I found a lot. These are a few of them, a lovely variety for you.

While I was working first thing in the morning some sales came through so I got them parcelled up and off to the Post Office.
Later in the day a friend popped by which was lovely, I hadn`t seen her for a while. It`s great to catch up.
Apart from that I was busy catching up after my weekend away.

Beautiful spring flowers
Do they have magic powers?
Daffodils bright and sunny
nodding heads look kinda funny.
Primulas so very pretty
just fit into this ditty.
Pansies with their velvet faces
fitting into all sorts of spaces,
Narcissi so like the daffodil,
not quite had the colour fill.
First of all was the snowdrop
spring`s coming when up they pop.
Tulips too will soon appear
saying spring is really here.
So much beauty all around
just take a look at the ground!!

Glorious Colour #Etsy

Due to yesterdays glorious sunshine I was inspired to put some glorious colour on here today. If you`ve been here before you know that I do love colour especially rainbow colours.
Hope you love it as much as I do.

Yesterday I returned from my weekend away visiting family. It was wonderful. I went out with my stepmother on Saturday, we did some shopping and I treated her to a meal out. I shan`t see her on Mothers Day so it was an advance treat.
Then my younger daughter and her hubby visited and took us all out out for lunch on Sunday as they will be away for the weekend when it is Mothers Day.
My stepmother and I were instant friends from the moment we met and started talking, we haven`t stopped since.
I always return home feeling renewed and refreshed and ready to throw myself back into it all.

Had a weekend away
just had so much to say.
Didn`t stop from night till morn
and started again with the dawn.
We talk of so very much
we like to stay in touch.
We tend to think the same
and consider life a game.
Now that we have paid our dues
we can really air our views.
We put the country to rights
view so many others plights.
We could sort the country I`m sure
slimline government, keep it pure.
All big institutions would fall
no more corruption would be our call.
They`d all have to be on the same pages
no more expenses or inflated wages.
We would do it all our way
and real people would have a say!!
