I did a treasury for the Craftyfolk scavenger hunt challenge and decided it would be lovely to have a nature themed blog. I used a few from my treasury and then went in search of more. These are what I found.

Yesterday I didn`t do much at all which was a very nice change. I took the day off pretty much, not entirely, because it was my birthday. The day started with phone calls and singing of Happy Birthday down the phone, followed by card and pressie opening. I had coffee and lunch out with some shopping and lots of chat and came home in time for my eldest daughter and grandchildren to visit with flowers and another present.
So now I have lot`s of flowers and presents I love, some to use, others to make and some to wear. Superb!

Some places have a storm season
as if nature should need a reason.
Storms can strike with little warning
even as the day is dawning.
The crash of every angry sound
reminds you a storm is around.
The darkness, almost like the night
broken by the shards of light
that strike at random places
lighting up the scared faces.
Then when the storm is gone
we check the damage it has done.
Before long it` s part of the past
as time and seasons move so fast.
Nature will always have her way
and we move on to another day!!

Gifts for Mothers Day #Etsy

A lovely collection of gift sets and gift ideas for Mothers Day for everywhere except the UK. Although you can always buy your Mum a gift at anytime and of course there are birthdays and other special occasions. So it`s still worthwhile for UK residents to get ideas too.

Yesterday I sent a parcel off to France, a textile art needle case, of which I am now getting rather low. I must get round to finishing some that are in various stages of creation. I have got some textile art pieces finished and some almost finished. For most it is just the sewing together, not my favourite job.
I could really do with a sewing fairy who just did it all while I sleep. That would be brilliant.
I got round to listing the rest of the new keyring Vaseline lip balm holders. Well the ones that are finished anyway. I have several done that just need finishing. The sewing etc.

A mum is always there for you,
no matter what you might do.
Do something nice especially for her,
get something unique she would prefer.
Make a nice dinner and buy a gift,
it`s bound to give her a real lift.
They`re not just for christmas you know,
tell her you love her, make her glow,
Always there every day of the year,
cooking, laundry and buying your gear.
So much she does that you never realise
don`t ever forget your Mum is a prize.
A Mum is a person with hopes and dreams.
Do you stop to check that all is at it seems?
Do you remember to take time to chat,
to ask about her life and all that?
For some, she`s a friend you tell everything
to others, no more than a fixture and fitting.
Just remind yourself, she`s a real person too
albeit one who is always battling for you.
Tell your Mum you love her and give her a hug
she`ll love it, despite the little shrug.
A little love goes a long long way,
give some to your Mum, this Mother`s Day!!

Softly Purple #Etsy

Well yesterday was a very good day as far as productivity went and socialising too.
Did a major amount of housework, not a favourite thing but at least it`s done.
Got a new pattern finished and listed which I am very pleased about, took a few hours to finish that yesterday but worth the time taken. It is on Facebook and in my Etsy and Folksy shops.
I also went out for a lovely carvery with the family which was wonderful, the food and the company. Then they came back to mine for coffee for a while too.
I won`t mention the time wasted on the ipad with a farming game that was put on for my 7 year old grandson that I seem to have become hooked on. Oooops.
That`s my idea of a successful day.

I love lavender and lilac too
of soft shades, more than a few.
Thinking now of Lavender and oil
the way it makes you relax from toil.
A floral scent, not too sweet,
for soothing would be hard to beat.
For a while it went out of fashion
now though it`s become a passion
as things fly off the shelves
disappearing fast like little elves.
Not just perfume and flowers any more
there`s all manner of things that it`s for.
Washing our bodies in bath and shower
coming out relaxed, fresh as a flower.
Lavender in sachets and in creams
not much we can`t do, it seems.
It`s got to be natural we now sigh
don`t want chemicals, is the cry.
Now we want what nature can provide
and get on the eco train for the ride.
Now we want want better for ourselves
and chemicals go back on the shelves!!

Fabulous Flowers #Etsy

A busy day yesterday, getting chores done to clear the decks for finishing a couple of patterns I have been working on.
Instead I spent time with my youngest two grandsons while my daughter went out. I did do some work on the patterns but they aren`t quite finished, hopefully they will be finished today.
I want to get them done fairly quickly as it will be an incentive to get more patterns transferred from notes into a proper order with pictures. There are some that already have all the pictures taken, been tried and tested several times and tweaked until they are perfect, yet are still waiting to be done.
I much prefer the designing part, the making and remaking until it`s perfect bit, it`s the most exciting and fun.
I do love it when a pattern is completely finished though and put into PDF format to be downloaded because I love the fact that others can make things from my patterns.

A beautiful glorious bouquet.
Do you like gorgeous roses?
What a question that poses.
So many flowers from which to choose
whatever the choice you can`t lose.
Red, blue, yellow and white
such a very pretty sight.
There`s some light and dark pink,
the colours can make you think.
Purples, violet and lilac too
all arrayed there just for you.
Too many colours together can seem
over the top for a colour scheme.
Flowers each have such a pretty name
none even remotely the same.
Rose, lily, peony and daffodil
with lovely scents to drink your fill.
Marigold, begonia, iris and eidelweiss
so many pretty names to entice.
Well I could go on naming them forever
but I`ll stop now, I`ll be clever!!
