Valentine`s #Etsy

As Valentine`s Day is getting so close I thought I would do a Valentine blog with crafts from Etsy. It is a very big site with a lot of shops and it is very easy to miss things. So to help you out I am including all things Valentine to make the task of finding a special card or gift that little bit easier. There are of course hundreds more Valentine`s gifts and cards available on Etsy. You just need to put Valentine`s into the search and up they will pop, easy peasy. If you still haven`t decided by tomorrow, there will be another Valentine blog here from another site.
Of course what is on here will be my choices which may not be what you would choose. In which case go along to the shops for a browse, where you will of course, see many more delectable items that you may prefer.
Well, my younger daughter`s hen weekend should now be in full flow. Tomorrow I am going to join her with her future mother in law for the last night of the weekend. There is a 3 hour spa booked which I am really looking forward to. By the time we get there though most of the celebrants will have gone home as they have work on Monday. So it will be alot quieter and more sedate, I would imagine, than the previous days and nights.
Yesterday I was busy preparing blogs in advance as I shall be away overnight.
I also picked up my youngest grandson from preschool and looked after him for an hour. We had lunch together and a play until it was time to take him back to his Dad.

Lilac & Lavender #FolksyFriday

The first Folksy Friday of February, can you believe it? Hope the rest of the year isn`t going to gallop away this fast.
Can you believe how cold it`s got? Seems like it`s staying for a bit too, with possible snow at the weekend. Brrr.
I wasn`t sure what to put on here until I saw a thread titled Lilac & Lavender. Being nosy and loving purples of all shades I had to look and there were such gorgeous colours and creations that I decided instantly that that would be my Folksy Friday theme. If you get some spare time have a little wander through the shops as they all have so many gorgeous things to tempt you.
Didn`t really do much yesterday apart from shiver. A trip to the shops, a bit of housework, preparing a casserole, stuff like that. Did take a couple of pics. Thought about sorting all my stock... and thought some more. Did a little.
It was one of those days where I seemed to be busy but didn`t really achieve much, not sure why.
I saw my youngest grandson for a little while, he`s so cute, but growing up so fast.
This weekend is my younger daughter`s Hen weekend and they are all off to Centre Parcs from today. It all seems a far cry from when I got married. You went out for a quiet drink and that was it, now it`s weekends away sometimes in exotic locations. Must be nice though to be able to take that time out amid all the flurry of preparations. A time to unwind and have some fun with close friends and siblings.
Makes the wedding seem even closer now though. Eeeekkk!!

There I was in the icy morning
already way past the dawning.
Walking on my way to work
looking out for the anything to lurk
in my way, a hazard you know,
making me walk, oh so slow.
Icy pavements to catch me unawares
even as the bright sun glares,
to try and take away the sight,
but I know what I have to fight.
Without care, I know what`s to come,
an ignomious landing on my bum.
Legs flying and hair all askew
with me turning the air blue.
Not for me I`d rather be late
than have such a painful fate.
No striding out today for me
because I`m allergic to pain you see.
So I`ll trundle along and enjoy the sight
and on my feet I`ll stay light.
When the snow comes in a blizzard
I`ve got an idea that`s wizard.
I`ll stay safe and warm indoors
so there`ll be no landing on floors.
Then I`ll watch it come down
with a smile not a frown,
happy that it looks so pretty
as I make up a snow ditty!!

February Fruitcakes #Handmade #Folksy

More internet problems, can you believe it? Problems with the phone line is apparently causing it to drop out. Arrrrrgghhhh!!
Just want everything back to normal as it was. You know how that goes... every time you turn it on and go online it`s just there and you don`t even think about it.
Okay whinge over.... for now.
Can you believe that it`s the 2nd day of February already? I can`t. Where did January go so fast.
Now what to have on here today... Of course, it`s obvious. The new february listing club. They are the February Fruitcakes. It kind of carries on the theme doesn`t it? From Nutters to Fruitcakes an obvious transition really.
I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Natalie of NOfkants Curios for all her hard work through January. Even when she is unwell she still keeps the tallies and spurs us on.
So I have had a quick look through and am delighted by all the wondrous creations I have espied. There are people from last month and I noriced some different peeps as well. So that is really great, more diversity and choice.
The downside of that is of course, a lot more temptation. Eeeeek!! I will try very hard to remain strong in the face of such temptation. An early temptation today was a fantabulous bag. It was Mmmm!! Do you like my new word? A mix of fabulous and fantastic, which the bag certainly warrants. If someone would like to buy the bag and save me from myself I will be evermore grateful.... well maybe not grateful... a bit jealous.... maybe? Very mixed feelings here.
Well I missed listing on this auspicious first day, due to said earlier problems and not having enough time to take photos. I will do better!! Yesterday I was at work so nothing exciting to report, well apart from the lunch time and evening crochet. Two pairs of gloves done, the hat almost finished and as yet nothing more done on the scarf. I confess to keep looking at a new colour I bought in the marbled yarn and wanting to start making something with it. But first i am going to finish the things that are underway.... maybe.

The internet is driving me mad
and sometimes making me very sad.
All I want to do is my blog
but I can`t because of the fog.
It all becomes so frustrating
and it starts becoming grating
on my frazzled, stretched nerves
because the server never serves.
I`m starting to tear my hair out
and beginning to loudly shout,
come back here RIGHT THIS MINUTE
my time on here isn`t finite.
Don`t take away my internet
because I haven`t finished yet!
I have so much more to do and get
done on the computer tonight,
yet the internet has taken flight.
I`ll make promises I won`t keep
because I`m annoyed enough to weep.
I wouldn`t mind but it`s not just me
others are having problems too, you see.
Why now, what is going on?
This is something we all rely upon.
So get yourself sorted please, very fast,
surely all these problems cannot last!!

Hearts and Flowers #Etsy

Thought I would do another hearts and flowers blog but this time with Etsy creations. It`s nice to see things from different sites and have a wider variety of delectable delights to see and choose from.
I`m sure you all must be like me, in awe of the amazing creations you see. I love to see such original designs and creations and marvel how they all produce such different designs even using the same materials. Not that I`m biased at all in favour of handmade. I`m sure that doesn`t come across. Does it? Tee hee.
Anyway today is more stunning creations, but this time from Etsy and I hope you love them as much as I do.
Yesterday I had my youngest grandson for a couple of hours or so. I had a parcel to take to the post office, so we were going to have a little walk there. As we trundled along a bus went past and he got quite excited and wanted to go on one. As we reached the bus stop one came round the corner so we decided to stop there and get on it. I figured I would post the parcel from the city instead. The parcel was my 1st sale on the WoW Thank You site, so I was over the moon with that.
We had a wander and then returned home to have lunch. Should I confess? Hmmm...... not sure. Oh, what the heck. Yes, I did.... I bought some more yarn. I know I shouldn`t, but it was irrisistable. I just love the marbled yarn and really love using it, it`s so soft and makes such lovely patterns with the different colours. Plus it`s so cold that I`m sure more winter accessories won`t go amiss.
What else did I do? Made a quiche and prepared this blog early as I was going out to a group I go to. Not very exciting by some standards but an enjoyable day anyway. Especially adding to my yarn stash.

Life just gets better and better
even though I`m no go getter.
My life would be boring to some
but for me it`s up with my thumb.
Always non stop busy I know
but it`s a good way for life to flow.
I love all the little things too.
Is it the same for you?
Now that winter is really here
I`m looking forward to what many fear.
The snow when it first comes down
fills me with excitement, not a frown.
To see the flakes swirling round and round
and watching it slowly lay on the ground.
It just brings out the kid in me
takes me back to childhood you see.
Nose pressed to the glass on Christmas Eve
rubbing at the ice with my sleeve.
Praying that the snow would fall,
though it never did at all.
Always in January, nice and thick
getting right on the adult`s wick.
Us kids though we thought it fun
playing out till the day was done.
Nowadays I don`t want it stay
just a few days when it can lay.
Then melting quick and onto spring
with warmer days making us all sing!
