Stylish A-listers #Handmade #Folksy

Well I clicked onto the A-listers thread on the Folksy forum and was surprised and delighted to see Natalie of NOFKants Curios had returned from her holidays. Everything still ran smoothly in her absence but somehow it didn`t seem the same. I think because Natalie has been doing the daily listing club since it started that it doesn`t seem the same when she isn`t there. Damselfly Gemma and Merry berry did an excellent job of running it all, cheering eveyone one on and keeping the tally, they were stars.
So today will be an A-listers day with a look at a few of the fabulous listings that appeared yesterday.
Yesterday was a bit disjointed. I seemed to be working away and not getting much done at all. It didn`t help that I woke with a headache, which I eventually had to take something for, that just wouldn`t go. It sayed all day regardless, most irritating. Still, I did get a few things done on the websites which was good and a little bit of crochet in the day as well as the couple of hours in the evening. The night before I started a collar in a blue textured yarn and added in the blue of the fluffy yarn the mittens at the bottom are in. It is coming along well and I am delighted with the way the different textures look together. I am having such fun trying out different styles in various textures. So far I`m putting together colours that blend well together but I might try some colours that are totally different.

I saw the most beautiful sunset,
enough to calm the biggest fret.
Such colours streaking the sky,
makes me wish that I could fly.
Luminous colours that set it alight
a loving prelude to the night.
Reds and oranges all aglow,
flowing gently, oh so slow,
as the sun sinks toward the ground
all happening without a sound.
Now the horizon is aflame
how can life ever be the same
after seeing such a glorious picture.
But this scene is a regular fixture
it happens each time without fail
as the end of the day begins to tail
away into the coming velvet night
lit only by the moons soft white.
Then the stars did twinkle and shine
so wonderful when the night is fine.
I love to see natures panorama
with all the ensuing drama!

Hearts #FolksyFriday

How about hearts today for Folksy Friday? I have often noticed hearts on various crafts, also crafts that are actual hearts. They always look so pretty so I think I will see waht I can find to show you. I`m quite getting into doing themes and not just for Folksy Friday as I expect you have noticed.
Yesterday I got on like a house on fire. Got all the computer work done first thing, then it was nice enough to take photos so I got those done too. After that I added quite a few things to my website. I even did some housework. Later in the day I had three of the grandchildren here for a roast dinner. My grandaughter was out, she has such a busy social life. Got two more things finished off as well so they are ready to be photographed now.
At teatime it poured with rain, absolutely threw it down. Although we haven`t had much for a while I suppose. Was amazed how much the temperature dropped, it turned a bit chilly.
Getting more ideas flowing in for new things to make. Another three pairs of arms would come in handy right now.

Babies #Handmade #Folksy

Today is all about babies. There is so much more available now than when I had mine. It`s great to see the great diversity of goods available. Everything you need and things you didn`t even know you might need or want. Babies can be very expensive so it makes sense to shop around and buy the best you can at the best prices you can find. Shops on Folksy are filled with quality goods at very reasonable prices and the quality is as good or better than you`ll find anywhere else.
My eldest daughter`s close friend is expecting twins. A lot of hard work but double the joy too. So babies are on my mind quite a bit at the minute, hence this blog. She has discovered that she is having two girls which we all think is wonderful, especially my grandaughter as she is surrounded by boys. Two other close friends, in the group, both have boys and of course my daughter has three as well as a daughter who is the eldest.
Yesterday I was at work so not so much to report on the creative front. I do of course take my crocheting with me to do in my lunch hour and after a few hours of computer work did some more in the evening. While at work I finished the second pink fluffy mitten so I showed it off. I was very pleased that they loved it so much and said how soft and warm it was. I`m not sure I could go a whole day without doing just a little, I find it very therapeutic.

The love begins when you first know
that a baby is starting to grow.
With growing excitement you cradle the bump,
in spite of feeling like a great lump.
This baby is a special part,
already growing in your heart.
A very special part of you,
you can`t wait until it`s due.
When the baby arrives your heart does swell
encompassing the entire world as well.
Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes
checking and counting as the love grows.
As they grow bigger their world does too
including so much more than you.
Independant and fast growing away
you still love them more than words can say.
Then they leave home and later return with a gift
one that makes your heart jump with a great lift.
This love is amazing, so tender and pure
and you are completely and absolutely sure
that no other baby could be so great,
as this perfect grandchild, that`s been worth the wait.
Life continues to circle round and round
it all gives life meaning, I have found!

Galaxy of Delight. #Handmade #Folksy

Thought we would bring a galaxy of stars onto the blog today. I haven`t had an entire collection of stars before, odd items, but not an entire display. So I think you`ll agree it`s high time we did. I hope you`ll enjoy todays lovely display and pop along to browse the shops too if you get a spare minute.
I was going to take pics of my blue mittens today and show them on here. I was also going to show you one or two of the christmas hats but I haven`t uploaded those pics yet. At least I managed to take those pics. Yesterday just ran away with me. I am getting on with the vivid pink mittens though, they are coming along nicely.
I took the older two grandchildren to the cinema to see Super 8. It wasn`t quite what I thought it was but I enjoyed it anyway. The children enjoyed it too. I think they have put up the price of the drinks and popcorn though, three small popcorns and drinks was almost £20.00!!! Can you believe that? And how mean to put them up in the school holidays! I told him it was very expensive and he said I was the third person to say so. Duh... shouldn`t that tell them something?
I`m geting excited about my trip to Switzerland to see my daughter now. I actually booked the tickets today and that makes it real all of a sudden. We are going by train as neither of us like flying and we`ll get to see the spectacular scenery too. Can`t wait!

When the stars are out shining bright,
they do make a fabulous sight.
Gleaming against a velvet sky
looking so tiny up on high.
We like to see a shooting star
we wish, wondering if it will go far.
We like to see them twinkling away,
they`re there but not visible by day.
So many constellations making up the night
they form into pictures taking flight.
Orion the hunter, with his bow
his belt giving off a glow.
The plough and the seven sisters
wonderful sights and fabulous vistas.
They change position with the season
and the time of year, no other reason.
The astronomers they watch everywhere,
anything else and they don`t care.
Now astrologers, they map them too,
to see how they affect me and you.
So many uses, but I don`t care,
me I just like to stand and stare!
