GIVEAWAY #UniquelyYours

Today and over the weekend I am running a giveaway. The last one I did was so long ago that I can barely recall it. So I felt that it was high time I did another one. I shall giveaway a Santa Hat and a Festive Mug Cosy with matching Coaster. If there are a lot of entrants then I shall add another prize too. What do you think? Is that okay?
All you have to do is leave a comment, just hello if you like and follow the blog if you don`t already. That`s easy enough isn`t it? I did toy with the idea of commenting on something in my shop but decided not to. It is a giveaway after all I don`t want you to work for it.
This will run from today until late Monday night, when I shall take all the names off, put them in a hat and get someone, probably my husband to pick the names out.
I do recall from the last time that the one person who said they never won anything, was the name my hubby pulled out first. He was totally baffled when I fell about laughing and still thought I was odd even after I explained. Men.....



I have made two of this hat so have decided to put one up for a prize and likewise with the mug cosy set. I shall probably make a few more festive items over the weekend and will include one if there are a lot of entrants.

Today I`m hosting a giveaway

October Owls #FolksyFriday

Have decided to do my Folksy Friday on the October Owls listing club. There are so many gorgeous creations being listed that i think i may have to start doing more. Just had a quick flick through and I know that I am going to have a hard job choosing what to put on here.
It was a very difficult task today. I was tempted to keep adding but where do you stop?
It was so chilly yesterday morning, the temperature had dropped another 10 degrees, not funny at all. It had been windy during the week but yestrday the wind had a real bite to it, a bit of a shock to the system I must say.
Was busy doing errands and food shopping yesterday and didn`t get much crocheting done. But that`s okay because I will get loads done at the weekend. I shall be busy making while we are chatting and catching up on all the news. It will just be me going a hubby is working and to be honest I think he would be fed up with us talking a mile a minute anyway.
I have been busy preparing blogs in advance too so there will still be something for you to see.

The other night I saw a shooting star
and I wondered just how far
from the earth it was away.
Will it come by another day?
That was the first I`ve ever seen.
Usually someone points and I`ve been
looking at a different bit of sky
and I miss it flying by.
So I saw a little bit of magic
thaty was so nearly tragic.
A blink, a turn or a glance
and I`d have been having a tantrum dance.
Instead I had a wish when I saw
it as I stepped out the door.
We all need magic in our life,
to help combat all the strife.
Sometimes at the moon I gaze,
so still, almost in a daze.
I gain perspective staring at the night sky
at so many stars twinkling up on high.
There`s magic there in the night
if only in that glorious sight!

Scarves #Handmade #Folksy

I couldn`t decide what to put on here today but wanted something for the fast approaching winter season. I thought about winter warmers first and typed it into the search and surprisingls there wasn`t that much, just 7 pages and most of those for small children and babies. So next I tried hats. This time, a lot more pages but they seemed mainly for babies. Now I know there are a lot of hats about because I have seen them listed on the forums. I tried the first 14 or 15 pages and then jumped to the end and worked backwards for several pages and I didn`t even see any of my hats which surprised me.
So then I decided to go for scarves and bingo!!! Lot`s of scarves and lot`s of variety of colours and designs, just what I wanted. After all we are all individuals with individual tastes. Plus of course if you like handmade you tend to be looking for something that little bit different, that you won`t see every other person on the street wearing. I think I managed to find a good variety for you to peruse today.
I was trying to work out how to crochet a full pair of mittens, I had done knitted ones, but wanted to crochet them. Sometimes I think it would be so much easier at times if I could follow a pattern, but then I look at one and it always looks so complicated I don`t bother. Having made up my own designs for so long a written pattern looks like a foreign language. Anyway after several hours of trial and error I now have two finished pairs of mittens. As always the first always takes the longest and subsequent ones are easier. I also have a tendency to refine the pattern as I go along. I did write down the basics of the knitted one, very basics, just a guideline really but don`t think I shall need to write the crochet one down. Once I have done a couple of anything it`s there in my head then. Plus if I go back to a style after a while and I can`t recall the exact way of doing it I`ve only got to look at the picture and it all comes back.

Today we have scarves galore

once the chill hits, folk will swarm.
All wanting to get in first
when they don`t, fit to burst.
So many are One of a Kind
that each one is a real find.
White, yellow, cream and green,
aren`t they the best you`ve ever seen?
An orange octopus and a rainbow,
all meant to give you a glow.
Ruffles and frills or plain
just too much choice again.
So many colours and styles
once you look you`ll be all smiles.
Then it`s off to make the choice, be quick,
while you still have the first pick!

Random Fun #Handmade #Folksy

Was at work yesterday and am again today, it`s all busy, busy. Trouble is it means that much less time for what I really want to be doing, which is crafting and being on here running my business. It does mean long days but it`s not like going out to work, you do the hours gladly because it`s for youirself and you`re doing something you love. I have time out of course for stuff like housework, yuk, and food shopping, a necessity, and time with the children and grandchildren, big yay!! It is of course good to step away some of the time as it means you are fresher going back to it.
I am looking forward to being away at the weekend, there is no computer there and although I miss being able to go online it is a nice break from it and I do get lot`s of new creations made.
I often get even more new ideas for things to make as we talk about crocheting and knitting and throw ideas around. It`s really nice to be able to do that with someone else.
Now what shall I put on here today... hmmm.... off to have a look.
Decided to go with random listings today. Anything and everything that caught my eye and I really liked the look of.

Random is the way it goes
when no inspiration flows.
