Crafts #FolksyFriday.

Thought I would do a variety of crafts again today. Quite a few shops have closed for Christmas now but there are still a lot that are staying open. After all not everyone celebrates the same things. Then of course there are all the folk that are happy to escape the noise for a while and come visit us online. Many will re-open boxing day and there will also be sales going on I expect.
On here I only show items from shops that are open. It`s not a pointless task clicking through to the shop in question as it will still be open for sales.
Yesterday I managed to sort out what presents were for which people and even got a whole load of them wrapped. That took all morning. I had told myself I would keep going until 10.00 a.m then 11.00 then 11.30 and in the end I stopped at 12.15 as I had to go out and post an order, followed by a quick trip into the city, that wasn`t so quick after all.
I only had a couple of things to do, well maybe 4 things. But they were all quick and relatively easy and then I spent 40 minutes waiting for a bus. Grrr! I was not a happy bunny, I have better things to do with my time than stand about aimlessly. Still I did get home eventually and was glad of a nice cuppa.
A bit later I looked after my youngest grandson while all the rest went to the circus. They didn`t think he would sit still long enough and it was a bit late by the time they got home, well late for him anyway, bless him.
He didn`t mind coming to see us for a while, then I took him home to bed.

Gorgeous Crafts #Handmade #Folksy

Got a numb brain today. No themes presented themselves so I just added what caught my eye. Not literally you understand, because that would be painful. All the crafts that I really liked the look of, mainly because they are a bit different.
I think I am starting to run out of steam, now that Christmas is so close.
I lost a crown... well not exactly lost... but it came out. not a good look at Christmas. A quick trip to the dentist soon sorted that yesterday and left me poorer. I am still itchy from my allergic reaction to antibiotics but at least I`m not swelling up so much. Things are improving. You see.... again.... not a good look when you want to be enjoying yourself. If you keep scratching people start thinking you have all manner of strange things, you get weird looks and they begin to edge away. If you try to explain they nod unconvincingly and move away faster.
It`s a bit like having a black eye. You get all these pitying looks and no one believes how you got it.
Many years ago after a trip to the dentist and an obviously badly sited injection, my eye became puffy. Well.... the looks I got when I went to work and nobody clearly believed my explanation. What they thought days later when no bruising appeared I don`t know, I gave up caring. After all I knew the truth and others could believe or not, their choice.
I was at work yesterday but left an hour early as it was the longest I had been on my feet in days, since the allergy started. Had my tooth fixed at lunchtime, but wasn`t allowed to eat so finished my lunchtime with a cuppa and some crochet.
Really need to get the rest of my gifts sorted out, who is having what, doing some wrapping and getting anything else I need. What can I say? I will try.... honest.... I will really try. No hard and fast promises though.
Okay I think I may have waffled enough for one day.

Busy, busy so much to do
busy, busy all day through.
Presents to wrap and no inclination
still much to do after deliberation.
Why can`t a fairy wave a magic wand,
of such a being I`d be very fond.
A flick and a wave all gifts sorted
shopping trip happily aborted.
Another wave, food is all done
and now I only have to have fun.
If only, if only that were the case
I wouldn`t have such a long face.
All the wrapping, more to buy
it`s enough to make me sigh.
Mince pies and sausage rolls to make
and a large gammon to bake.
Ooops, oh dear I forgot the bread,
for fairies there is much to be said.
So Christmas fairy wave that wand for me
because I am much in need you see!

Baby Crafts #Handmade #Folksy.

Have decided to show you lot`s of goodies for babies, because, let`s face it, babies are an all year round attraction. Lot`s of new babies and babies on the way at the minute so it`s nice to be able to have a look at what`s about, especially if you or someone you know is expecting a baby.
You will notice that there are less crafts on show today, that`s because I too am winding down for Christmas. There will still be a blog each day with the usual chat and verse all over the holiday but there will be fewer crafts, although a dozen still isn`t bad for viewing. You still have a decent selection and of course each of the shops will have lot`s more.
Yesterday I was dashing to the post office with last minute orders, nice and early so hopefully they will get them today.
I also popped round to my elder daughter`s to see the grandchildren and her friend was there with her new twins. I say new, they are over 2 months old now but weren`t due until this coming Friday. Have to say they are absolutely gorgeous and growing fast, beautiful little girls. I had a cuddle with one of them, my younger daughter was cuddling the other and not about to give her up anytime soon.
New babies are so fascinating to watch, their expressions and movements so cute. I do find holding babies is so calming and restful.
My 5 yr old grandson held one of them a bit later as I was leaving, with his mother watchfully at his side I hasten to add. The pride on his face was such a picture, he is so fascinated with the twins and constantly watching over them.

Babies aren`t just for Christmas you know,
all year round it`s great to watch them grow.
Chubby little faces, giving the odd smile
you just have to watch for quite a while.
The grimaces they give are just as cute
they`re so cuddly and quite a hoot.
The only thing is, they grow like weeds
probably because they come from seeds.
So you constantly update their size
but you don`t mind for such a prize.
Your own is always better than the rest
you don`t even need to put it to the test.
As they grow fom baby to child,
you love them even when they are wild.
You gaze at their faces and the hair,
will they stay dark or become fair?
Their features too you scrutinise.
Who`s nose is that and whose eyes?
Will they like books or be more sporty,
be quiet and good or more naughty?
You just don`t know what they will achieve
or what sort of life they`ll eventually weave.
For now it`s enough to just sit and hold
uncaring whether they`ll be quiet or bold!

Advent Artisans #Handmade #Folksy

Still wanting to buy online? Then you`d better get a move on or you`ll miss the boat altogether. Even after today you can still order and pay extra for overnight signed delivery. It`s just over twice the cost in postage but probably worth it if you have left it a bit late.
My post office tells me I can post out until 5.00 p.m today so will do so with fingers crossed for a safe and timely delivery.
Have decided to display the Decenber listing club, the Advent Artisans for this final posting day. You`re still in with a chance if you hurry. Some have already finished for Christmas but there are several still taking part as you can see. All high quality original handmade crafts just waiting for the discerning buyer.
Yesterday felt a bit off colour with this allergic reaction. Had spent a wakeful night with the irritation from the rash with more still appearing while some areas are improving. Still it`s going the right way I think...hope.
I went to the cinema in the afternoon with my hubby and we enjoyed the film we saw. Not often we both go to the cinema, so that was nice.

There is softly falling snow,
many faces all aglow.
Winter shows it`s pretty face
as it hots up the pace.
Glistening ice crackling like glass
all of this will soon pass.
Make the most of the beauty all around
as you walk in snow without a sound.
Early morning silence gives a hint
that the world has a white tint.
Branches that were once bare
have a monochrome beauty that makes me stare.
So many ordinary things now seem
like the cat that got the cream.
They wear the new finery with pride
we mere mortals just along for the ride.
The sun comes out, causes a steady drip
as it`s warmth, it lets rip.
A temporary melting, a slight thaw
before the skies unleash snow once more!

It`s Almost CHRISTMASSS! #Handmade #Folksy

As it is almost the last posting date for Christmas I thought I would show lot`s of festive crafts today as well as a few gift ideas.
We had some snow yesterday which really made me feel christmassy, couple that with some present and card delivering and all of a sudden the Christmas spirit is about. There is something about seeing swirling snow that brings out the kid in me. I do love to see it. I don`t even mind so much walking in it at least it doesn`t soak through as quickly as rain.
Mind you, a few weeks of it will tell a different story methinks. But for now I am enjoying seeing it and looking forward to seeing a carpet of it covering the garden to make snowmen with the grandchildren.
Oh, just had a thought... these days should it be snowpeople? Now that`s making me gigggle sitting here writing this. I don`t care at all, I make snowmen. Yay!!
Now what else did I do yesterday? besides some housework. Present delivering, followed by taking my 14 yr old grandaughter to the city to buy her present. She decided that she would like to choose it. So we had fun, a cinnamon pretzel each and lot`s of laughs as we shopped. She takes great delight in the fact that she can now put her arm over my shoulders with ease. Hmmm.
Aren`t I a bit young to be shrinking?

The snow is falling all around
and rosy cheeks do abound.
Looking pretty like a snow globe
as I sit watching in my robe.
Now the Christmas spirit rises,
I feel like there could be prizes.
Looks amazing swirling about
It`s WINTER now, I want to shout.
There`s something about the first snow,
seems exciting and gives me a glow.
Later the reality will really hit,
trying to walk will be hard, well a bit.
Trudging to work with cold toes
and even a bright red nose.
In spite of that I think it`s fun,
nice to have some before winter`s done.
Not too much, enough to look pretty
and that`s how I`ll end this ditty!
