Love Turquoise #Etsy

This started life as a treasury for British Crafters Shop Of The Week, for this week. You`ll be pleased to know that I have managed to catch up with that now. Yay!!
This weeks winner was Emma of Ritzy Swish.
Emma`s shop bio says:
Did a degree in Knitwear Design BSc hons and a PGCE. I have been a Textiles teacher for 13 years, also a practising Textiles Artist and Product Designer.
My work is a little eclectic; the work spans the realms of Textiles products, Textiles Art and Mixed Media. Recently, I have become more environmentally conscious and subsequently I have expanded into recycled fabrics, appropriate Textiles methods (such as patchwork and random appliqué using scraps), and recycled components.
It`s obvious that Emma enjoys her craft from her beautiful and varied creations in her shop. All would make lovely gifts for yourself or someone else.

What do you think of Turquoise
does it give you extra poise?
As a colour, so vibrant and bright
giving clothes and home added light.
As a crystal it is very healing
and should leave you feeling
happily centred and calm
as it soothes with healing balm.
It can help your energy to flow
and thereby giving an extra glow.
The colour of water and the sea
I find it strikes a chord with me.
Maybe a Caribbean sea and sky
that suddenly makes us want to fly
to far off climes for the sun
to try to find some summer fun.
Whatever turquoise means to you,
it`s more than just a shade of blue!!

Think Spring #Etsy

This was a treasury for the British Crafters Shop Of The Week. Last week the winner was Leanne of Leanne Woods Designs. I was rather late doing a treasury, didn`t manage it until the last day, just got in by the skin of my teeth.
During their week in the spotlight, the Shop Of The Week has all the team members promoting the items in her shop in any way they wish. It`s a great way to get extra promotion and your shop seen by a wider audience.
Leanne`s shop bio says:
Hi, my name is Leanne and you've found my little slice of Etsy here at Leanne Woods Designs. I am a full time designer/maker and life long crafter and call the creative and craft loving Ards Peninsula my home where I live with my husband, daughter, one very large guinea pig (always mistaken for a rabbit) and our slightly odd one eyed cat who thinks she's a dog.
I have a little studio in my home that sort of overlooks the water if I stand on a chair with my head out the window. I don't do that too often though.
I love to sew and enjoy sourcing (read - shopping for) local fabrics made in the UK although sometimes it's hard to resist the occasional yard or two from elsewhere. I make the things I enjoy most from bags and purses, through home-wares and decorations and, having a tech mad husband and daughter, gadget cases too.
Leanne`s shop is a testament to her love of sewing and well worth browsing through, whether for yourself or a gift.

Across the rooftops fingers creep
ever closer while some still sleep.
The sun beginning a new day`s story
lighting up the world in all it`s glory.
White snow turns slowly to gold
as golden light reaches into every fold.
The wind makes the trees madly dance
as though it is their last chance.
Flakes from branches released into the air
caught by the wind, whirl without a care.
So much that is beautiful in the early light
golden and flying, such a glorious sight.
Biting cold that makes cheeks blush
reddened by wind as folks hurry and rush.
Do they see the beauty I wonder
in a storm do they hear the thunder?

Craftyfolk Crafts #Etsy

Thought we`d have a show from the Craftyfolk team today. A variety of gorgeous creations that cought my eye as I went through the thread on the team forum.
I hope all the Mum`s out there had a great day yesterday, spoilt, pampered and waited on by willing offspring who appreciate all you do throughout the year.
On Saturday it was wet and miserable weatherwise, then late afternoon it changed to snow so relentless that in the end it began to lay in spite of the wet ground.. By yesterday morning it was changeable, bit of rain and snow and then it just snowed on and off.
Not had much chance to do any crafting at all over the weekend, although I was doing creating Saturday morning with lot`s of baking for the Saturday night family get together.
Mothers Day was lovely, with a visit from my eldest daughter, son in law and the grandchildren. Well three of them as the eldest was at work. Then it was off to lunch at my younger daughter`s for roast lamb. Delicious!

First we had wet and grey
then light and bright today.
The snow was softly falling
the great outdoors was calling.
Like soft feathers on my face,
brushing at a gentle pace.
Walking in unblemished snow
working up a healthy glow.
The world slowly turning white
always such a pretty sight.
Becoming a gallery of art
with everything becoming a part
of this vast picture that`s free
and so much you no longer see.
The grass hidden, no longer green
so much that is no longer seen,
buried beneath this soft cover,
embracing the world like a lover!!

Happy Mothers Day #Etsy

Today is of course Mother`s Day and this is for Mother`s everywhere because they all deserve to have flowers, even if they are only pictures.
So to Mum`s everywhere.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
because you deserve it and I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing day.
Yes, I know, relaxing and mother don`t really go to together do they, just try it though and if all else fails, go on strike.
We had a wonderful family get together last night for my granddaughters 16th birthday, hard to believe she`s that age already.
Today I shall be at my younger daughter and son in law`s home enjoying a lovely Sunday roast along with his parent`s too, who are a lovely couple.
Today it is his Birthday: So HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mike, even though it`s a tad inconsiderate to have it on Mother`s day. Lol!!!

A Mothers love surrounds us all

She picks us up when we are down

that always means so very much.
They care for us through the years
often not without some tears.
They guide us through thick and thin,
cheering on each and every win.
So today make sure your Mum`s relaxing,
nothing more taxing, than lifting a cup or glass,
and on the washing up, taking a pass.
Cook or take her out for dinner,
that one`s always a winner.
Get some flowers and a treat or two
because she`s always done her best for you.
Mum`s deserve the very best
and a day to have a rest!!
