July Jewels #Handmade #Folksy

Today is for the July Jewels listing club. The daily listing club on Folksy. Such a a great way to stay motivated and continue to list and craft. I`ve been doing it for 10 months and this month and next month I am having a break from daily listing to get lots of new creations made for the winter season.
Still haven`t got used to not listing each day, but I am getting on with lots of new things. After making and listing each day for so long I`m not sure I could stop if I tried. I feel lost now without a few different projects on the go.
Well I say a few but I do seem to have quite a lot on the go at the minute. There appears to be many half finished creations all over the place. I am sure that before long my hubby will protest and I will have to have a sort out and make a determined effort to get them all finished.

I awoke to a wet grey morning,
no pretty sight as the day was dawning,
of the sun bathing the world in golden light,
an early morning stunning sight.
Walking to work through the grey gloom,
brightened by all the flowers in bloom.
With so many different shades of green
from light to dark, the better to be seen.
Everything growing so very well again
fuelled by the never ending rain.
No that`s not true, I have to say,
the sun does come out to play.
But the wind is so very strong
that clouds always return before long.
I thought July might be better
I`m not sure if it might be wetter.
Please nature won`t you change your mind
and search far and wide to find
the summer that we used to know
to give us all that summer glow!

#Dogs #FolksyFriday

Today for Folksy Friday I decided on a dog theme. There are some lovely items for your pets as well as lots of goodies for dog lovers. Maybe you know someone who loves dogs and loves to receive dog related gifts or you like to have some for yourself. Whatever you fancy I hope you will find it on here or if not here then pop along to Folksy and have a look through. There are so many fabulous dog and animal related items that I had no hope of including even a fraction of them. I hope you enjoy the ones I did select for your your perusal.
Let me think now... what did I do yesterday. I finished a lacy cotton wrap I have been crocheting. I also beaded it all around the lower side. I was going to use wooden beads, but didn`t have enough of any one type and the logistics of working out what to put where was just too tricky as I didn`t want it to end up looking messy. I did try for about half an hour or so, rearranging beads along the length but gave up in the end. I used small amber glass beads instead and I think they worked quite well. I shan`t have a chance to photograph it until Sunday as I am at work Friday and Saturday. However once it is photographed I shall list it in my shop. It took quite a while to make and the beads all took quite a while to stitch into place but it was worth the effort. Well I think so anyway, you`ll have to let me know what you think.

Oh dear me, once more the rain
and I sigh, please not again.
There`s just no middle road
we either get none or a load.
I wrote this rhyme the other week
when rain we all did seek.
Now I`ll add it here today
just so I can have my say!

Water is the breath of life
and also causes so much strife.
It falls freely from the sky
but then we all ask, why?
Why this place and not there
it hardly seems very fair.
No water means no crops growing
there is no proper circle flowing.
Nature has a circular flow
that helps all things to grow.
A barren desert is so dry
only sand to shift and sigh.
No trees there to bring the rain
we keep destroying again and again.
We don`t learn the lessons of life,
destruction only brings more strife.
But then we were hearing small voices
railing against the choices
that humanity has made in the past,
saying we must change and fast.
As many more realise, the voices are loud,
now we are all helping and feeling proud.
Helping to restore nature
so our planet has a future!

#Owls #Handmade #Folksy

As I have been looking around Folksy over the last week I have been noticing a lot of owls for some reason. As they seem so prominent of late I have decided to do an owl blog. I think most people seem to like them and find them quite cute, like me. The owls that is, not me being cute. I`d like to think I was, but reality tells me otherwise.
So now I am off to look and try to find all the gorgeous owls I have been seeing of late. Sod`s law says I probably won`t find the same ones I have been admiring, but I`ll go and try anyway. What I should have done is bookmarked the various pages. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Okay, back again.
Well there more than I could use on here in a week or even a month. So much choice that I was having trouble trying to pick some out. I hope you like the choices I made. Do pop along to the shops as lots of them have more owl designs.
Nothing exciting to report in my life, not that it`s very exciting anyway. Was at work yesterday. I did get crocheting done in my lunch hour and last night, so I`m not slacking, honest.

Owls are lovely and they`re cute,
I think owls are quite a hoot.
Flying by night, not often by day
stealthily they seek their prey.
Gliding like a silent shadow
they search for food as they go.
Owls always seem so wise
regardless of their size.
Wise as an owl is the saying,
they always seem to be weighing
up everything they see all around,
in nature and at night they abound.
In Folksy they adorn so much
and can be yours at the touch
of a button, a click of the mouse
then be flying by night to your house.
Would you like to own your own owl
do you love the way they prowl.
Real ones are better in the wild
what we have is much more mild.
A picture, a motif, or a toy
things for you, a girl or a boy.
Off you go to find your own,
now that the seeds I have sown.
