Festive Delights #Handmade #Folksy

All things festive today, in case you hadn`t guessed. I decided to try the searches on Folksy and see what came up. Under Home & Garden there Is a title called Christmas, with a variety of Categories under that. So I clicked on different categories to find these festive delights for you today. There are hundreds of listings in each category so this of course is a tiny drop in the ocean of festive delights. If you`d like to see more have a check through them yourself because of course my taste isn`t what everyone likes.
Yesterday I was babysitting my youngest grandson while my daughter worked. So we had fun and played together, had a little trip to the shops and then took it all back to my house, before heading to his home in time for his mum`s return.
Then it was busy busy getting things done as I am off to Milton Keynes today. Not for long be back again by Monday lunchtime, but It`s a chance to catch up with family and take pressies etc. I`m really looking forward to a couple of days away.
The blogs will of course be posted as usual at 5.30 a.m each morning, the only difference is that they will be done ahead of time. I shall be leaving hubby at home to hold the fort, he`ll only be bored by our non stop gassing.

dance as though it`s your last chance.
Go to and enjoy every party
from kids ones to arty farty.
Enjoy your family and every friend
and you`ll be weary but laughing as you wend
your tired but happy way home to bed,
though some of you may have to be led.
Get all your gifts sorted nice and early
all the kids, the manly and the girly.
Then you`ll have time for relaxing
to sit back and enjoy nothing more taxing
than a little tipple in your hand
while maybe listening to a band.
Whatever you do have fun
with great memories when it`s done!

Advent Artisans #FolksyFriday

Okay today I`m showing crafts from the new listing club, the Advent Artisans. Sounds good doesn`t it? I think it has got quite a ring to it.
The name is chosen by those taking part adding suggestions or voting for a particular name and that was the name that came top.

There will be some of the sellers you`ve seen over the last few months but there will also be different sellers too. It is nice to have lot`s of variety. Although many of the crafters have quite a diverse range of talents as you`ve probably noticed.
Yesterday I spent time running errands in the morning and even managed to get my hair cut. We nipped to the supermarket for something my grandson suggested for tea and got other stuff and came home without the one thing we`d gone for. Good job my head is attached well, otherwise I might lose it at the minute.

The autumn leaves have fallen to the ground,
there are great big heaps all around.
It`s good fun to kick through the leaves,
enjoying the crisp air as nature weaves
her usual seasonal magic spell,
that let`s us know all is well.
The leaves mulch down, occasionally crispy,
as mornings are damp and sometimes wispy.
Then comes the frost on days crisp and bright
sparkling in the sunlight, a wonderful sight.
Crisp bright days have winters bite,
making us all wrap up tight.
Chilly mornings snuggling in bed,
chilly cold cheeks, turning bright red.
Fingers and toes feeling the cold pinch,
I don`t think this winter will be a cinch.
So wrap up warm in your winter woollies,
even as the wind prods and bullies,
trying to catch you unaware
so be sure to take care!

Nexus Grand Finale #Handmade #Folksy

The start of a new month today, so we are having a Grand Finale for the November Nexus listing club. A month that has gone so fast it`s unbelievable. Now we are on a headlong rush towards christmas. Just over 3 weeks left. Can you believe it? I can`t! So much to do and so little time.
Really must start getting the christmas cards sorted. I`m still hoping to squeeze in a few painted ones yet. Although getting the time to paint them is looking very unlikely at the minute but you never know.
Anyway I am digressing as usual. The Nexus listing club has survived all the upheaval of a site change with all it`s glitches and problems. In a way it was good to be able to have a complain when you came up against a glitch and have several people cheer you up. It really does make all the difference having a community spirit.
Mind you without Natalie of NOfkants Curios always there, doing all the hard work of starting a new thread each day, adding to the tally, cheering us on and commiserating at low points, I`m not sure where we would be.
I know I do this each month, but it can`t be done often enough. A big THANK YOU to Natalie for all her unstinting hard work and support yet again. I`m sure all the other club members feel the same.
I have to say though that many others offer support when required and make suggestions to help wherever and whenever possible.
What did I do yesterday......... Had a good sort out, in cupboards, a wardrobe, my crafting/computer room and of lots of stock too. It all looks so orderly and good now. It won`t stay that way for long but for now it looks tidy. I even tidied all the bags tucked down beside the sofa. Now there is only one there for the minute. Right now I feel quite virtuous.
I also got several items photographed as the day was sunny. It was still a bit windy but nowhere near as bad as it had been. So really it was a result all round.
Todays verse was one I wrote on the forum where there was a discussion about the sales fairy. One seller wrote that she doesn`t believe in the sales fairy so I just had to reply.

The sales fairy isn`t a myth or fairy tale,
she often comes to bring us a sale.
She flits from shop to shop,
trying to catch us on the hop.
Just when we`ve lost all hope,
there she is and we can cope.
When we have begun to despair,
we wish very hard and she`s there.
She brings magic to our lives
and in our shops she thrives.
Alive and well, getting ready to call
the sales fairy visits us all.
Next you`ll be saying Santa`s not real
and then how would we all feel.
I`ll tell you, we`d be feeling tragic
because we all need a bit of magic.
In the daily grind it makes a feel bright
to feel the touch of a magical light!

Fun & Fabulous #Handmade #Folksy

I was having a look at a new listings thread on the forums and some of the crafts I spotted made me decide to go along with this theme. Some are fun items others are just fabulous and some are fun and fabulous. I hope you like the selection I have chosen for you today. I liked them all very much. I hope they give you some gift ideas too if you haven`t already made a start on your festive shopping.
Right now I need something a bit lighthearted so this seemed a good way to go.
I was at work yesterday but didn`t get any crochet done at lunchtime as I had other things to do. I did do some in the evening however and now have one or two more items to be photographed should the weather improve.
