Owlishly Clever #Etsy

Owls I think today, haven`t had those for quite a while, at least, I don`t think so. Todays crafts will come from Etsy so I shall go go see what I can find. If I remember rightly there have been quite a few owls about on there lately. Mind you I have been seeing quite a few owls on a lot of sites so they are clearly very popular.
Decided to do a treasury of owls and then use them on here, two things at once, how about that? Clever or what?
It was a clever idea... but..... and then I discovered I had already done an owl treasury. Ooops. So I have used some of those owl crafts and hunted out some more too.
Yesterday I took my youngest grandson to pre school, so I was out and about early. Well early for me. I`m always up early, just don`t usually venture out early, too busy doing all the listing work on here at that time.
I did however take a little time to take some photos of two finished beaded jug covers. I like to take them once it is light but preferably before the sun comes up too high and it`s too bright. I find that with the sun on them the picture`s colour tends to be distorted. Strange really, we long for bright days to take pictures outside, but too bright ruins them.
It was nice to see the two youngest grandsons at that time of day, full of beans and ready for the day ahead.
The 5 yr old had an Easter Parade at school so he had to take a large hat his Mum had made, that he helped to decorate, to school. The older two had already gone to high school.
Then it was a visit to the local shops, back here to catch up and then off to the school again to pick him up.
We enjoyed some play together after lunch until it was time for him to go home.

Owls glide along at dead of night
not often seen, a beautiful sight.
Myopically blinking and looking around,
flying along, watching the ground.
Looking out for food, something nice
for them, not us, rather like mice.
They all look so cute and fluffy,
although solemn, not stuffy.
Their talons though are serious stuff,
I imagine they can be a bit rough.
They grip their prey like a vice
don`t think they could entice.
The owls hoot can sound quite scary
making those who hear a little wary.
Most people find them so cute
and think they are quite a hoot.

Creative March Makers #FolksyFriday

I went looking for a theme for my Folksy Friday and instead ended up having a look through the March Makers thread for 28th March. I saw the first picture (lower down) and that was it, I just had to add it and then I saw more things that just had to be included.
Then that was it the blog kind of did itself. I think you will agree though that these crafts are wonderful and in need of a wider audience.
Yesterday I decided to have my eyes tested as I had a free coupon for Vision Express. You know me, impulsive, don`t want to wait or make an appointment ahead of time. I went along and yes they had an appointment in 40 minutes time. Hmm... should I, shouldn`t I? Well I did as I had a parcel to post first. Lucky it was that amount of time to spare as the queue was massive, 30 people a head of me. Oh dear. Not much choice but to wait there as there are now so few Post Offices anymore.
Anyway got back in time for my appointment and there was a miracle. It wasn`t a conveyor belt I saw two people who did the lot between them and that was it time to move on and choose glasses. Woo Hoo!
Anyway, I finished the jug cover I started the day before and started another which is almost finished now, so that`s good.
Had the four grandchildren round for tea and was busy bouncing with the youngest two on the trampoline. It`s a big one, 13 ft across and surrounded with safety net, so ideal for them. My younger daughter popped in after tea too, so it was fun all round. Just as I was putting tea out my sister came round to bring some flowers which was lovely but she didn`t stay as we were about to eat, so I missed out on a chat there. Hopefully though we will get together over the school holidays and catch up then. Quite a busy little time.

Spring is sprung, the grass is grown,
don`t let your equilibrium be thrown.
I thought, I hoped the summer had come
but April chill will have us under the thumb.
The cold is returning but don`t you fret,
enjoy the now, it`s not here yet.
The warmth and brightness of the summer sun
makes you want to be outside and have fun.
Already it`s turning, the wind feeling chill
that won`t give anyone a thrill.
Yet now each cool spell is less,
I prefer warmth, I must confess.
So clouds, clouds please go away,
I don`t want to see you today.
I would like to keep the sun
because as yet I`m not done.
I haven`t had my fill of spring
want to keep feeling that zing.
Getting used to this early summer
losing it would be a bummer.
So clouds I beg you to depart
and give summer a chance to start!
Almost time for the weekend
and Nature`s ready to send
a chill across the land once more
now isn`t that a real bore!!

Sweet Temptation #Etsy

Something completely different today. If you are feeling hungry right now then don`t look any further.
This blog was inspired by James from JPWPhotography who did a treasury on Etsy. Luckily I had eaten but I still felt the hunger pangs. Everything looked so delicious that I decided there and then to use some of those in this blog and hunt for more.
Mind you, by the time I had finished hunting I was starving and craving something sweet, can`t think why! Chocolate... mmmm......cake.... mmmmm... food... mmmm. Quick break while I go and feed my face.
Okay better now. Really shouldn`t have done this with less than three weeks to go until my holiday, at this rate I won`t fit into my clothes.
I hope you enjoy these delicious creations and go browse through the shops. You won`t believe what you find!
Yesterday was a work day... well every day is, but usually I am working for myself. Two days a week I go out into the world and work for someone else. I have to fund this yarn habit somehow. The trouble is the yarn habit is branching out into beads and ribbon and..... Well you get the picture. Looking for something yesterday, a wrap I don`t recall selling, I uncovered far too much yarn and that was only the tip of the iceberg. At that point I told myself that I mustn`t buy any more until I have made a large dent in the yarn I already have.
I have started another jug cover as one I listed the other day has sold. I have smaller glass covers and large jug/bowl covers but no more in that intermediate size, hence the starting another. I have a feeling they will be popular this year so I am trying to get a stock made up. I`ve already sold more of them in the last month or so than in all last year. Which is of course a good thing. Just need more beads now.....
Enough waffle, time to rhyme.

Yesterday a busy day at work
I`m never one to shirk.
My poor feet ached from rushing about
they throbbed until I wanted to shout.
Then I came home and got on here
no rest for the wicked, that`s clear.
I clicked on a link and was undone
so many cakes not just one.
A treasury with much that was sweet
made me really fancy a treat.
A gooey cake seemed just right
but chocolate too was a yummy sight.
Maybe a lollipop will do
and what will do it for you.
A cream cake or tart for slicing
or what about that delicious icing.
I`m like a kid in a candy shop
this has really caught me on the hop.
I don`t normally have a sweet yearning
unfortunately now I`m learning
that the sight of so many all arrayed
shouldn`t be on this blog displayed.
There`s too many tempting treats and cakes
I want them all for goodness sakes!
