Purple & Teal #Etsy

Thinking about what to put on here I saw a page of turquoise creations and for some reason that made me think of Purple and Teal together. Amazingly they look fantastic together and really compliment each other. These are two of my favourite colours and seeing them together is the icing on the cake.

Yesterday I was rushing out and about. In spite of that I managed to achieve quite a lot. First thing in the morning I ended up having a good sort out and organising my stock. Later in the day, home again, I managed to get several listings into draft in readiness for being listed, in two shops. Having done that I was very pleased with myself as it felt as though quite a bit had got done. There are still alot of new things to be sorted out, more pics to be taken and edited as well as writing them up. Sigh.... no rest for the wicked. Doesn`t help that I am making lots of new things to add to the pile waiting for photographs. Still it will all get done eventually.

The moon was rising and I waited
my breath was definitely bated.
Would the moon really be blue?
I honestly didn`t have a clue.
In August the full moon came twice,
seeing it blue would be rather nice.
Or is it called that because of the double
maybe I`m just asking for trouble.
It`s rising now, still very low
the orangey colour a bit of a blow.
I`m still hoping it might be blue
that would be something to view.
At times it`s such a pure white
that it almost gives off a blue light.
Too late the cloud has come in,
hiding it`s beauty is a sin.
I love to see the silvery glow
light the garden, making deep shadow.
Light and dark such a contrast,
shame it doesn`t seem to last!!

Falling leaves.. #FolksyFriday

When I did a Pinterest board the other day for the Autumn shades, several of which I used on here, I also saw lot`s of leaf designs and added them to a separate board with the vague idea of using that too. I have decided to use those for my Folksy Friday this week. Seems kind of fitting with the change in the weather, rain and decidedly cooler. Definitely feels as though we are heading for Autumn.
I hope you enjoy my choices today and take a little time to have a browse through the various shops.
Yesterday started of with sunshine and went downhill after that. It felt quite wintery with a chill wind and heavy rain, such a contrast to the lovely weather we have been having.
I took my youngest grandson on the bus to the city which he enjoyed but it wasn`t long before the rain started and we headed back home again. He didn`t mind as we`d been in a couple of toy shops, but I gave up on what I wanted to do.
I did manage to get some photos edited and a couple of draft listings done, so that was something sorted.

Autumn leaves will soon start to fall
it really won`t be long at all.
The weather has gone downhill fast
feels like summer`s already past.
Howling winds race around
as rain bounces off the ground.
But soon the leaves will start to turn
with colours looking as though they burn.
Fiery reds that look so warm
followed by a yellow swarm.
Oranges appear in many a shade
and then we can kick and wade
our way through each and every pile,
such fun to make us smile.
Out will come all the wellies
and winter food will fill our bellies.
Every season has it`s ups and downs
producing happy faces as well as frowns!

Rainbow Brights #Etsy

The other evening I saw a rainbow, it didn`t arc right over but the colours were amazing. Regular readers know how much I love rainbows, they always seem so magical and give me a real lift. The verse below was the one I wrote when I saw it.
Having already got the verse I decided to have a look on Etsy for rainbow coloured creations and came up with loads of glorious items. It was a hard job choosing and I could have kept going adding pics but had to stop somewhere. I hope you enjoy my choices and the beautiful colours give you a lift and leave you feeling happy.
I was at work yesterday and it was busy as always. I did manage some crochet at lunchtime and in the evening. I finished a small childs muff or handwarmer in fluffy pink polyester. I love this yarn as it feels so luxuriously soft and warm and yet is so lightweight. It is a pain to use but well worth the effort as the look and feel of the finished item is lovely.
I have also started another hood as I was so pleased with the way the first one turned out.

I was alerted by a strange light,
looked up to see a wonderful sight
A rainbow, tall, bright and glowing
all the jewel like colours flowing
into one another, looking so fine
I wished I could keep it, make it mine.
It looked so magical, I made a wish
and it`s no good you trying to fish,
it`s a secret that has to stay that way
otherwise it won`t come true some day.
If I tell it won`t happen you see
and this is specially for me.
Oh.. now it`s gone, the glow faded
and I`m left feeling a little jaded.
For a little time magic was in the air
and all I could do was sit and stare.
They say you can find a pot of gold
if you can find the end and are bold
enough to go after what you desire.
You just need some rainbow fire!!

Autumn Shades #Folksy

Thought we would have a change of pace today and have Autumn shades from Folksy. I did it the easy way by finding things and popping them on a Pinterest board so I would have them all together. From there it was a much easier task to transfer them one at a time to this blog.
I saw some lovely Autumn shades creations on Folksy which gave me the idea of showing them to you all.
Sadly I have already noticed some of the leaves turning so Autumn is not far away at all. Then before we know it winter will be upon us and that will mean.... yes.... that C word.... shall I scare you and say it? I think I will... Christmas. It`s less than four months away now and at the rate this year has rapidly passed will be upon us before we know it. Eeeek!
Yesterday started off sunny and warm and apart from a few cloudy times, that threatened rain, stayed that way.
Finished my latest creation and started another. The one I just finished was a hood with scarf attached. I figured that lots of people don`t like tight hats or even suit them but a hood is looser and with the attached scarf should hold in place firmly. It`s made with a chunky yarn in my own stitch that gives it a lovely textured feel. I`ve been using that yarn a lot in different shades as I somehow feel we might be in for a bad winter. Could be something to do with the extremes of weather we have experienced so far this year.

Autumn will soon be on it`s way,
I saw some dead leaves just today.
The colours always look so glorious
as the chill sets in and is victorious.
Winning, as the summer starts to wane
and winters hold begins to gain
mastery over nature and us all
holding the land in it`s thrall.
Leaves will slowly wither and die
eventually letting go with a sigh.
But first many will turn red,
then brown before being shed.
Others have a vibrant orange glow
that fades, oh so very slow.
Yellows too, some muddy, some bright
all of these a wondrous sight.
They fall then to the ground
a colourful carpet all around.
Crisp and brittle, blown into a heap
I enjoy the crunch as I leap
into the middle kicking up with delight,
as the wind blows them and they take flight!!

Time for a Read? #Etsy

I realised that I hadn`t yet done a treasury for the featured shop of the week so decided to do one yesterday afternoon. Then I thought `Why not put it on here?` So I have.
The featured shop this week in the Crafty Folk team is Loutul and the owner is Louise.
She says in her bio that although she works 5 days a week as a business analyst she is an avid crafter. Especially loving embroidery, pewter embossing and also scrapbooking. Louise says she doesn`t get as much time for crafting as she would like.
Her shop is filled with amazing creations that are so different and beautiful. All would be wonderful to own or would make a very special gift.
Louise clearly loves creating as it shines through in every single piece. Do have a look through her wonderful shop it`s well worth it, as are all the other lovely shops.
Yesterday was a Bank Holiday and although it started off well here with blue sky and sunshine it very soon reverted to type. Cloudy, much cooler and rain off and on.
I did some food shopping and a pile of ironing, which these days is quite a rarity. Usually my grandson does it to earn extra pocket money. Sadly there were quite a few things that I needed to do myself but I did leave quite a few for him. Then it was catch up time online.
