Light Up Your Life #Etsy

Well I have absolutely no idea what to put on here today. I am fresh out of ideas and have been trawling the sites for inspiration.......

It`s okay I found something. I`ve gone with lights. It popped into my head when I was on Etsy and I put it into the search and I have to say they do look rather pretty. Quite lucky, as I was going to go with random items instead, although it has been a long time since I did that.
I could start doing the alphabet in colours and see how many I manage, now that could be fun. Would very likely have to be a bit inventive but I`m sure I could get through it. The letter that I cannot fill with a colour would just have to be something else.
Going for a fixed theme does make life easier as far as having to think up themes, especially as I am very busy at the minute with taking part in Etsy`s Mentoring scheme. I am still going through my shop tweaking tags and titles at the minute. I have some photos to retake as well, not many now, but still a job that has to be done.
Still I am getting there slowly but surely.

The lights all look so pretty
I could almost be witty.
You don`t have to panic
or feel the need to be manic
I`m as likely to be funny
as all summer is to be sunny.
Not sure if it`s something I can fix
but somehow me and funny don`t mix.
I`ve tried so hard at it
but just cannot find the wit.
I haven`t got it that is clear
so you see, you needn`t fear
I`ll stick to what I know best
and try not to be a pest.
I`m told I can be very trying
and I do sometimes sit here sighing
great big heartfelt sighs
that even scares away the flies.
I sigh because life can be tough
especially if no one buys my stuff!!

Magical Rainbows #Etsy

Yesterday was another beautiful day. For those that don`t live in the UK apologies for the constant weather updates but all day sunshine is something we have to make the most of, especially when there is warmth too.
Anyway, the weather is sort of the reason for this blog theme today. I saw the upcoming weather forecast for today and tomorrow and it`s going to be mainly grey by the look of it and lower temperatures. I know you can`t always believe the forecasts, despite their having the latest technology etc, although they are usually right when it comes to grey and cold. So I decided that I would need some brightness to look at, just in case.
So it had to be none other than beautiful bright rainbow colours. I love rainbows, as you know and I think they are so magical, vibrant and uplifting.
I hope you like them as much as I do and enjoy the colours whatever the weather.

I just love to see a rainbow
they always have a magical glow.
They make me think of creativity,
always such a wonderful activity.
You could go through the archway
to a special, happy land of play.
All you have to do is just stare,
before you know it you`ll be there.
Going through the colours so bright
that give off such an amazing light.
Within me it lights a fire
of creativity and does inspire
me to reach for a much greater height
just from seeing the amazing sight.
We need to find the magic, it`s a must
then we`ll all be sprinkled with fairy dust!!

Summer Holiday #Etsy

I did this for the On Fire team on Etsy`s treasury challenge. The theme was a favourite song.
Now that sounds easy, doesn`t it? I thought so. Then my mind went blank, I couldn`t think of a single song title at all.
So off I went and looked at the few that had been done already. I took one look at the first one and saw a picture of a little girl in a very bright tutu sitting on a beach. That did it! Straight away I thought `summer holiday` and then couldn`t get it out of my head. I kept trying to think of other songs but it was too late, it kept running through my mind and there was no escape.
For those that don`t know it, the song is pretty old, it`s Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard. Now I can see quite a lot of you scratching at and shaking your head, totally baffled.
Now you are wondering who he is. Well he is in his 70`s bless him. I`m sure if you look on Youtube or somewhere you`ll find the song. Happy hunting.

We like a summer holiday, as the song says
enjoying ourselves and long relaxing days.
We look and if the cash will reach
we head abroad, straight for the beach.
Balmy days, seeing the sights
living it up on hot summer nights.
Enjoying a walk under a star studded sky
stopping for a kiss so soft, like a sigh.
Warm sand scrunching between toes
and very likely a rather burnt nose.
Eating too much, it`s part of the fun
then wishing you hadn`t when it`s done.
A holiday always fly`s by so fast
and we bewail that it didn`t last.
Back home and it`s a memory to treasure
one that we often linger over at leisure!!

Perfectly Pink #Etsy

This blog is for Ailsa of Bramalfie Beads etc. this weeks British Crafters Shop of the Week.
I always think it`s nice to find out a little bit about the person behind the shop and what inspires them.
Ailsa`s bio says:
I grew up trying new crafts on a regular basis, I used to cross stitch, make jewellery, lace making etc. anything my mum did I tried!! The one thing I loved was beads and turning them in fabulous pieces of jewellery for myself.
I still have many of those pieces of jewellery!!! As I got older and left home I left the crafting behind.... until a couple of years ago. I suddenly remembered how I used to feel when I made jewellery and decided to take it up again and thus Bramalfie Beads Etc was born.
I can spend hours in a bead shop but this time I wanted to make my own beads, I thought about paper beads and then metal clay but finally settled on polymer clay something I had used as a kid. I am constantly amazed by what you can create with polymer clay, the range of colours is endless and the number of different techniques seems to be never ending too!!
I am constantly finding new things to try but I keep coming back to my favourite technique mokume gane!! If anyone is wondering where the name came from - it is an amalgamation of my dogs names, Bramble and Alfie!!

Summer has come it`s finally here
that much has become very clear.
Bright sunny days with a clear blue sky
not a single cloud up on high.
In the garden eating ice cream
so nice just to sit and dream.
Flowers blooming bobbing their heads
all the colours, including pinks and reds.
Summer is a great time for pink.
Does it still make the boys wink?
At a garden party, looking pretty
feeling good and being so witty.
Pink brings out the best in us all,
looking tip top at the summer ball.
