Red & Blue #Etsy

This beautiful and colourful collection caught my eye as soon as I started looking and that was it. With the wind howling outside and throwing the rain against the window with great ferocity, something bright and cheerful was an easy choice.

Went into the city yesterday with my granddaughter who was off to her part time job. No classes on Friday. We had a browse together and then she headed off.
I went to sort out a new contract for my phone.. I went to Phones4U as the last time I went there they were absolutely brilliant and nothing was too much trouble.
This time they didn`t disappoint either. A young man named Scott sorted out mine. I love the fact that they don`t do a hard sell on you, they listen and then give you exactly what you ask for without any fuss. In my book that counts doe a lot. Plus if you go in at any time because you have forgotten how to do something they help with no questions asked.
The last time, I went to a few different phone shops before reaching theirs and they were the first NOT to look me over and dismiss me without even asking if they could help.
So if you are a bit older, like me and don`t need the latest gadget or to listen to a hard sell, go there. They are friendly and helpful, above and beyond the call of duty.

It is still endlessly raining
and yes I feel like complaining.
So very grey it`s barely light
looking like it`s almost night.
The puddles just grow and grow
nowhere for the water to flow.
The ground is boggy and sodden,
with puddles where folk have trodden.
Did I mention it`s so very cold?
Offering sunnier climes? I`m sold.
Winter has gone on way too long
and this much water is just wrong.
Other places are suffering drought.
I ask you, what is it all about?
But in adversity, we stand together,
we`ll get through this latest weather!!

Valentine Hearts #Etsy

I couldn`t resist having hearts for Valentines day, it just had to be done. This was a treasury that I made for the Craftyfolk teams Shop of the Week, Pollypurplehorse Crafts, owned by Angela. She makes a wonderful array of cards that are well worth a browse, especially if you like your cards to be beautiful and a cut above the ordinary.

Had a moment of synchronicity when I visited the city yesterday morning. Having done the necessary errands I waited for the bus home. Within a couple of minutes it arrived and much to my surprise, I saw a lady getting off, give a pair of sheepskin mittens to the driver.
I told the driver where they had been found and described them and had them returned to me. What were the chances of that? Especially as I hadn`t even realised that I`d left them there.
Later in the day I visited and relative not long out of hospital and discovered my internet wasn`t working on my return home. Further exploration, a phone call, told me they knew about it, had found the fault and were putting it right. Phew!!
Was lucky for all of you else there wouldn`t have been a blog today.

Because Valentines is all for love
hearts and flowers go hand in glove.
A valentine card is meant to be
by long tradition, a mystery.
You signed it with a question mark
out of love or just for a lark.
Nowadays we give gifts too
and very often, more than a few.
Long stemmed red roses for passion,
giving theses is all the fashion.
Some give champagne or a good wine
this will usually go down just fine.
It`s been known to give a ring
to show it`s more than a fling.
A proposal will be an inspiration,
that brings a coming celebration.

Pink Butterflies #Etsy

This absolutely gorgeous collection was a treasury made by Tommye of TJB Designs for the Craftfolk team`s shop of the week. I thought it was so pretty that you would all really like it too.
Definitely a feast for the eyes.

Yesterday... now what did I do yesterday. Actually not a lot. I woke with a thumping headache that took quite a while to go and left me disinclined to do much. I did computer work very slowly with lot`s of breaks and a bit of housework. That was about it.
It was very blustery when I went to get my youngest grandson from school and very wet too. When it was time to get the 7 year old from his after school activities, it had at least stopped raining for a while which was good.

Pink Butterflies on the wing
make my heart want to sing.
Spring thoughts come to mind
such things happen I find.
All so tired of endless rain
we all want some warmth again.
Warm days and clothing in pastel pink
surely sets the brain up to think
that spring just can`t be far away
with bright days when we can all play.
When plants begin to get some green
and leaves on trees can be seen.
Long days and short balmy nights,
now thinking of summer sights.

Travel Time #Etsy

Round about this time of year many peoples thoughts turn to holidays, mainly I think, because they are fed up with the winter weather and dark nights. Some of course have already booked holidays in January or earlier.
So with this is mind I thought this collection would be great. A reminder of what we have to come .... hopefully.

Yesterday began with a gorgeous sunrise setting the sky on fire, then it turned blue as the sun came up. After that it went downhill and just for a change, we had rain and more rain. Luckily it dried up later in the day and we had a bit more sunshine which was nice.
I met a friend for coffee and we had some lunch out too, so I didn`t really do very much craft wise apart from some crochet in the evening. I do however have some ideas brewing that hopefully won`t come to fruition just yet as I already have a few projects on the go.
