#Random Saturday. #Handmade #Folksy

After having a couple of themed blogs I think that today, I will go for random craft items that happen to catch my eye. It`s nice to have a wander and see the new listings that folk have in their shops. Very tempting though, but I will stay strong. I hope!
I have found some gorgeous listings and quite a variety too. I hope you will like them as much as I do.
I have been busy making new things. The other day I bought a large amount of new yarn and promised myself that I wouldn`t start on it yet. I failed miserably lasting about 24 hours before I just had to get some out and make something. I was quite good yesterday and did manage to spend a bit of time finishing a couple of things. It wasn`t nearly the several hours I had promised myself but I spent some time with my youngest grandson instead, a good trade I think. I will just have to attack the `to finish` pile again today and hopefully get a bit more done. I have things made that just need a button and have sat there for a couple of months. Ridiculous I know, but I don`t enjoy sewing like I do crochet or knitting. Crochet is definitely my favourite though. Haven`t even had a chance to do much more on my new loom either. I need more pairs of hands and more hours in the day.

I just need more hours in the day
then I would have more time to play,
at all of my favourite things
crafting gives my fingers wings.
Doing what I love they fly so fast
time whizzes by, it just doesn`t last.
I need more hands to keep up with my brain
it`s come up with lot`s more ideas again.
No time to play with my loom
there won`t be a textile boom.
At least there won`t be just yet
buit I`ll get there don`t you fret.
No time for painting,
please don`t go fainting.
I`m doing my best to keep ahead
I`m worn out when I go to bed.
Promoting and crafting, housekeeping too
at times I feel like I`m in a stew.
Cooking and cleaning and blogging as well
I`m getting knackered, can you tell?
Trying to find time to build a website
produces dark circles that give me a fright.
Too many irons in the fire at once
maybe that makes me some kind of dunce.
But it`s all because I love what I do
and want to show it to all of you!

Summer seems to be returning. I know what we had before was like summer although really it was still spring. Technically I suppose it`s still spring now, but with the sun returning and the temperature starting to climb a bit it feels like we could be moving into summer. Let`s face it, summer is great. Lot`s of time outdoors, barbecues, parties with friends and family, birthdays can be outside too, all good fun.
So in honour of the improved weather I have decided to show all manner of bunting. It seems to be very popular now from bedroom, to party decorations to garden and wedding decorations. I have to say that it does look very pretty. So if you are thinking of having a get together of any sort or a party celebration, why not get some bunting of your own to make the occasion extra special.
I have to admit that I didn`t expect to find as big a selection as I did. I was amazed by some of them as I had expected to see all traditional types, albeit in a varity of sizes and material.

Bunting`s often used for party time
so I think we should have a party rhyme.
For childen`s parties in the outdoors
it doesn`t half save your floors.
Why not decorate a bedroom with it too,
too add a certain something just for you.
Weddings look great with a bunting array
it all adds something to a special day.
A family party or just for fun
it will all look great when it`s done.
Are you having a big barbecue?
Get it all up before the guests are due.
Bunting is great for anytime of year
makes it feel like party time is near.
Who knew there would be so much
all made with a loving touch.
Elephants, hearts and beach huts,
no excuses now and no buts.
Flowers, pirates and even Dr Who
owls and patterns, I never knew.
Cupcakes and knitted, Happy Birthday too,
even weddings, all made especially for you.
So much to browse through and see

Baby & Nursery. #Handmade #Folksy

So many babies on the way at the moment. Seem to be hearing about lot`s of newly expectant mothers just lately. In view of that I have decided to have a display for baby and nursery. There are so many beautiful things available for baby and nursery now. So much more than when I had mine 30 and 32 years ago.
There are lot`s of things on here and Folksy that are great to give as gifts when the baby is born too. I didn`t include cards this time, but again Folksy has an amazing amount of cards for new babies. I have also seen at least one seller who does beautiful plaques for new babies too. @Aunty Joan Crafts is the shop and she has quite an array of cards there as well. Definitely worth a look.
I have been quite bad today. I went and bought a very large amount of yarn, now my head is spinning with new ideas. Although I have to say that a lot of it is for the winter accessories I am going to make. Trouble is I want to start using it and making things right now. I will try to be good and tuck it out of the way so I am not tempted, otherwise my half finished pile will be growing again.

A baby is such a wonderful gift
once one`s on the way you have to sift,
through all the gadgets and gear
faster when the time gets near.
You start off with a rosy glow
nine months will go so slow.
Not the case at all, the time will race
as the baby grows, you`ll pick up the pace,
so little time, so much to do,
you`ll be glad when it`s here, Phew!
How many clothes, what to get
do I have to decide just yet?
Recycled things or the newest gear
your baby will have it all, no fear.
What about the nursery things?
Your feet had better have wings.
So much to do and get
we`ll help, don`t you fret.

Don`t forget to enjoy this time
