Creative Crafts #Etsy

Well this will be the final blog for a week unless I get the urge to write the odd verse on my phone. Can`t do pictures on that though, so it would only be writing.
I may well get used to the not blogging and end up doing a lot less, will have to see, although I did say that before and it went back to normal. It`s all a bit addictive this blogging lark. It`s watching the viewing figures rise that does it I think. When they drop off I start thinking that I should cut back as it takes quite a chunk of time. Oh well we`ll see, things always work out the way they are meant to.... eventually.
Yesterdays blog didn`t go out till nearly 7.30 a.m. I could have done it sooner as I was awake from 4.00 a.m and just couldn`t go back to sleep. I did try for two hours and then gave up and did the blog.
Anyway this one is from Etsy today and will obviously be here for the next week, so enjoy.

I think it`s going to be grand.

I can`t wait to see what it brings.
A new adventure is always fun
especially if helped by a little sun.
Though it won`t really matter a jot
not with the good company I`ve got.
Fun and laughter all the way
a brilliant time every day.
I`ll try to write verse while I`m gone
I`m bound to write at least one.
Maybe I`ll practise some humour
although that could be just a rumour
I start to make you think and wonder
then maybe you`ll steal my thunder
and add verses willy nilly
now I think I`m being silly.

London`s Calling #Folksy

Good morning, the blog is a bit late this morning, mainly because I have been too busy enjoying myself.
Well that was after wrestling with car insurance I thought I had done. Did the renewal online several days ago through the website. It didn`t ask for a card number but came up as paid. I assumed they kept the details from last time. Waited for new stuff to arrive through the post, nothing. Tried phoning. A call centre abroad. Turned out that as they had cancelled it I would have to go through the whole thing again. I pointed out that they already had the details. He just had to ask some more questions. Grrrr. I said was the price the same..... cagey reply. Didn`t know till he`d asked the questions. So I asked for a rough idea based on the fact they had all the details already. Nope. couldn`t do it. Tried again... would it go up or down.... couldn`t say. I was getting a little annoyed at this point. So I told him I wasn`t spending another half hour on the phone only to find it was more expensive, in which case I would go elsewhere anyway.
To be fair I had already spent half an hour on the phone while he faffed about finding this information and that information. I even pointed out that it must be right in front of him on the computer which he agreed it was. Arrrgggghhhh. I gave up, told him not to bother I would get it somewhere else.
So I tried another insurance company, spoke to a nice lady and it was sorted.
Visitors arrived yesterday, we went off out for lunch at a local pub. Yay!! I am seriously getting used to this eating out lark, the biggest plus is of course no cooking. By the time we got back from there after a leisurely lunch the afternoon was going fast. Then of course by early evening it was more socialising, glasses of wine, lot`s of great conversation and plenty of laughter. I ask you.... what could be better?

A clear blue sky started the day
but now I`m thinking, no way.
Put the washing on, it should get dry
now I`m thinking Nooo, big sigh!
I know the forecast was for rain
but the early start fooled me again.
The gorgeous sunny dawning
made for a bright morning.
The temp is getting warm already
the gauge rising nice and steady.
Why wouldn`t I think, nice day?
Washing out, then shopping play.
The clouds now are filling the sky
the sun has already said bye bye.
It`s getting darker as I speak
I fear the sky is going to leak.
Please oh please, no more rain
don`t want a miserable day, not again!!

What a Mug! #Etsy

I was looking for a theme and thought Star Wars. I saw a few great mugs and decided to see what other mugs were available and was totally amazed by the variety. Not just for tea and coffee, beer mugs and shaving mugs... hadn`t even thought of those but added them too. Variety is always good so I included some mug cosies as well. After all they are very handy for keeping the drink hotter for longer.
I hope you enjoy the selections I`ve made. It took a while as so many of the shops had so many amazing creations that would make fabulous gifts for any time of the year.
If you get the chance do have a browse through these shops, I`m sure you`ll be as amazed as I was. For an even greater selection put Mugs into the search on Etsy, you could be there a while.
Yesterday started off a beautiful day but by lunchtime was getting rather dark. It poured down for a little while and by late afternoon was sunny again. This seems to happen a lot lately, I`m starting to think that we are having a monsoon season.
I did a whole load of housework, rushing around like a lunatic. Blimey, if I did that every day I`d be really skinny. I got done in time for us to go out for Sunday lunch. We were meeting my younger daughter and husband, his lovely parents and my younger brother and his lovely girlfriend. We went to a hotel near the airport and they had kindly agreed to stay open later to accommadate us. Apparently they usually take the last booking at 2.00 p.m but agreed to us going at 2.30 and were even prepared to wait if we were a bit later. Considering that most of us didn`t arrive until 2.40 and 2.45 p.m they were great. There was no rush or hurry, great service and yummy food. If they were wishing us gone it didn`t show at all. Top marks to them.

It`s great to have a wonderful mug
and even better to give it a hug.
By that I mean a lovely mug cosy
either plain or very posy.
We have some mugs that are great fun,
others with a surprise when you`re done.
Mugs that are cute, some are scary,
haven`t found one like a fairy.
Mugs made purely for your beer,
just the job that`s very clear.
A ceramic mug for on the go,
very useful, not just for show.
Some have space for a cookie,
it`s clear that I`m quite a rookie.
I`ve never seen those before
or pottery ones to take out the door.
Lids on to keep the drink steaming
so many that it`s all seeming
just a little bit surreal.
Who knew they`re such a big deal?

Sporty Summer #Folksy

I thought we would go topical today and have sports. With the Olympics in the news and many following the various events on television I thought it would be fun.
I know there are many who don`t like sports, me included, who avoid it like the plague. But we are hosting a very big event and it does deserve a mention, if only for the fact it brings people together and makes us all feel patriotic. Well, maybe that should be most. I have heard a few grump about it. Right now though we all need to have the feel good factor in our lives and it does bring that.
When I went with my daughter and grandchildren to see the torch as it passed by our area the feeling was electric. So many people out at such an early hour and all so happy, such a wonderful energy was generated. I think it`s the same with the games. If you watched the opening ceremony you will know what I mean, that feeling just leapt through the TV screen.
Next week I shall be away. I had thought about preparing blogs in advance but it takes so much time that I decided not too. I shall have a complete break. They will probably be here till mid week. Just thought I would give you all advance notice.

This year it`s a real sporting summer
for some it`s a real bummer.
Sports everywhere you go
all about one great show.
So many sports all together
going on regardless of the weather.
So many countries in one place
all taking part in the race.
The prize goes to the bold
as they try to win the gold.
The athletes are put to the test
trying to prove they are best.
Swimming, cycling and running
all doing their best and gunning
for the very best top spot
to prove that they are hot.
We all want ours to win a medal
whether with water or foot to the pedal.
So many sports under one roof
and all of this is proof
that we can all get along
when the reason is very strong.
Sporting people put differences aside
so they can enjoy the manic ride!!
