#Saturday Showcase. #Handmade #Folksy

I think today I will do the last few of the sellers that favorite my shop. There aren`t many left, several shops are still in holiday mode too, so I might include a few of the Folksy folk who have bought from my shop.
Is the weather still good where you are? It was another fabulous day here yesterday. I did a load of housework and then got on with my crochet. I sat outside while I worked away and it was most enjoyable. I finished off another jug cover, in White cotton this time, that I had been working on the night before and then made 2 more glass covers and matching coasters also in white cotton. I sat for so long my rear end went numb, but I was very pleased with what I had accomplished.
Have finally got to list a summer wrap made from Bamboo. Yay!!! These wraps do take a lot of hours to make, but the end result is worth it. Well I think so anyway and the buyers of the ones already gone thought so too. Which is very nice I have to say.

My poor little grandson is all spotty.
His back and belly are all dotty.
He has come out in chicken pox,
it`s even underneath his socks.
In his ears and his hair,
he doesn`t seem to care.
At four he doesn`t let it stop him,
he`s just as full of vigor and vim.
The littlest one hasn`t got it yet,
he`s incubatiing it, I`ll bet.
They all visited yesterday afternoon
but sadly had to go much too soon.
Well too soon for me anyway
I do like to see them play.
The twelve year old wanted to work
`any jobs` he asked, `I won`t shirk`.
The trampoline hadn`t been done for a while
so off he went with a brush and a big smile.
After clearing all the leaves and seeds
he wanted to do more and attacked the weeds.
I think it`s good they want to earn money
and are prepared to work, even when sunny.
I love to see them and have hugs galore
the trouble is, I always want more!!!!

Summer Blues. #Folksy Friday.

Thought I would do a Folksy Friday blog of summery blue items today. The weather is so fabulous at the minute that it makes me think of summer. Let`s hope it lasts for a while yet. Actually I wouldn`t mind if it lasted until December. Maybe that`s a bit impractical though, lack of rain etc. Still we can dream. Although if the weather was always the same what we have to talk about?
I seem to be having a bit of a blue theme going at the minute. I`ve been enjoying using the Bamboo yarn, it`s a shame that it`s been discontinued. It has a nice weight, without being heavy, on a finished article. Tomorrow I will be listing a summer wrap made in this yarn. There is one only in these colours, so if you like it, grab it quick. Mind you, the same goes for all the things I make. I will use a similiar style in different colours but don`t repeat those colours in that style. Always, only one of each.

I`ve got some summer blues
and they`ve had lots of views.
All are cautious in case it goes
we all know how our weather flows.
But if it goes for a little while
don`t worry, it`ll be back in style!
Summer will be coming don`t you fear
so get your goodies while they are here.
Long dreamy and warm summer days
sometimes lost in a heat haze.
We don`t mind as long as it`s here
it`s been a long winter without cheer.
It seemed to last so very long
but we were brave and very strong.
Out came the stiff upper lip
a long winter was just a blip.
Now the nights are pulling out,
SUMMER`S coming, I want to shout.
Soon it`ll be picnics and barbecues
so many tasty goodies to choose.
A jug of squash, a glass of wine
could anything else be so fine?
The company of family and friends,
lots of fun and chat that lends
itself to a good time for everyone
outdoor living till the summer is done!

April Show-ers on Folksy.

Time for an April Show-ers blog once more. The good weather has made the forums a bit quieter on Folksy, but there are still quite a few of us listing. Bet you are glad to know that! Otherwise I might have to fill this space up with endless rhymes, that would be enough to give you nightmares. Ha ha!!
It was another beautiful day yesterday, quite a scorcher. I sat outside and crocheted. I finshed a jug/bowl cover and sewed lots of beads all around it. Then I made a couple of glass covers and matching coasters, all in bamboo yarn. I was really pleased with the way they turned out. Ideal for the summer to stop flys and wasps getting in your drinks while outside. I made the tops with a close stitch and put a lacy stitch for the overhang where the beads are attached to, so even if they land they shouldn`t be able to get in. Yay!!!

So warm and sunny yesterday
all I wanted to do was lay
on a comfy sunbed and snooze.
I`ve heard, if you snooze you lose,
so I crocheted outside instead
of lazing on the tempting sunbed.
I worked my fingers to the bone
didn`t even stop for the phone.
I crocheted and beads were sewn
blimey, how the time had flown.
Then my grandaughter came to iron
cos I hate ironing, I`m not lyin`.
She whipped through the pile so fast
and soon was on the very last.
She`s keen to earn her own cash
mainly because she likes to dash
off with her friends, here and there
it usually entails entry and a fare.
She quite admired the odd old ditty
thought they were nice and quite witty.
She said you could be a poet
I quipped back, I just don`t know it.
A hug and a kiss and she was on her way
time for tea, nearly the end of the day!
