In honour of a couple of springlike days I have decided to do a blog with flowers and butterflies as the theme. Flowers are wonderful any time of the year. If I am given flowers I find it makes me feel really good and lifts my spirits. Everytime I catch sight of them they make me smile and I love it when the scent fills the house.
Butterflies though, well I just love them. When I chose the decor for my bedroom the duvet covers had butterflies on them, embroidered in gold. When I was at work my hubby painted a large one on the wall, then he added a smaller one and they looked brilliant. I then went away for a few days and on my return he had added a third little butterfly and I have to say they looked brilliant. They have been much admired by family and friends as they stop the one darker wall looking too plain.
I also have lots of butterfly brooches that I add to jackets and handbags, although when on handbags I have a bad habit of losing them. But I look on it that maybe the finder needs it more than me.

The sun came out, the day was mild,
spring is coming, isn`t that wild.
I saw lots of crocuses in sunshine yellow,
a lovely sight, makes me feel mellow.
Can this be happening, is it real?
Is spring on the way, is it the real deal?
Or do you think winter hasn`t quite finished
it`s power not yet fully diminished?
A day like that makes us hope
with the cold I can no longer cope.
So spring is sprung today right here
I think it makes it feel quite near.
Flowers and butterflies abound
very soon they will be all around.
Colourful flowers in all shapes and sizes
lots of butterflies too in many guises.
Flowers I love, don`t we all,
butterflies though, hold me in thrall.
So delicate and small, so very pretty,
about them, I can`t think of anything witty.
So I hope you enjoy todays bit of spring,
it helps take away winters sting!!!
