Excited Thank You Spectacular!

I was very excited to notice that the blog views for the month had gone over 12,000. Twelve Thousand!!! that`s a huge amount of views. I know there are probably blogs that get that, or close to it in a day but for me it`s a BIG landmark.

A very Big THANK YOU to all those who come to view regularly, all those who have viewed in the past and of course all New viewers. I appreciate all of you coming.
When I first started this blog, it seemed very strange to be sitting here and essentially talking to no one. If you`ve never done it, just try it, a very odd experience. But then the first few people come and it`s exciting.

Over time the views go up, which is great and down, which is natural, though it can be disappointing. Overall, the enjoyment and excitement far outweighs the lows.
There have been times when I really haven`t felt like thinking up another rhyme or taking the time to do it all but I do it anyway and am always glad once it`s done. I suppose it`s the sense of achievement that I`ve completed something, rather like something I`ve crocheted. A sense of satisfaction in something that you have created yourself. Which of course goes for any craft.
Once I discovered how to set it up to self publish it made it easier, whenever I went away, to do them in advance.
I can remember in the early days telling my younger daughter that there were more views when I put rhymes on here and she said `well maybe that`s your thing to do then`. So I decided, why not?
I`ve always enjoyed showing handmade crafts on here to give them all a wider audience. Which really is the main reason for starting and continuing this in the first place. I wanted to spread the handmade word and to show people that handmade meant quality and originality, because I believe there is a big swing back now. Many people don`t want mass produced goods that last five minutes, to buy in a shop where it seems to be an effort for the staff to tear themselves away from texting or a riveting conversation, just to serve.
But let`s not get started on that one, else I`ll be here all day..... bit of a hobbyhorse that one, customer service or lack of it.
Anyway the point of all this waffle, apart from reminiscing, is to let you know that the crafts on here today are from a Forum thread that I started on Folksy. As my family don`t get excited about any of this or really have any interest any more, I wanted to share my excitement with like minded people, hence the thread.
I was really touched by the many people who did share it with me and made such lovely comments. So for those kind people I am saying a Thank You by showing something from each of them today.
It never fails to amaze me how kind and supportive the community is on Folksy and it`s not the site, but the people, the crafters.
Even after all the upheaval the site admin caused, all the friction they caused, the people who actually make Folksy, are still ready with kind words and support.
Yesterday I went with one brother and his other half, to visit another brother an hour away, to celebrate my nephews 18th birthday. Naturally I took my crochet with me and got one of a pair of gloves almost finished, only almost as I was working on a scarf too. Didn`t get any done on the way home though as it was dark.
We had a lovely meal, it was great to chat and spend time with my family. After the meal we went back to the house for cake and boy, what a cake. An edible rower sat on top and the cake was iced to look like a river with grassy banks, amazing. My nephew is a keen competitive rower and extremely good and fast too.
Oh my goodness, look how much I`ve waffled on.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

I`ve done this blog to celebrate
how many folks have come to date,
to share the excitement that I feel
for me it`s a really big deal.
I love to see the view counter rise
but it was a very big surprise
to see it go so very high,
I`m standing tall, could touch the sky.
I feel so very proud
and want to shout out loud
a very big THANK YOU
to all those that come to view.
I`ve spent time to make this work
a task I would never shirk.
Each person that came to share
I went to browse in their
shop for a delectable creation
to help create a sensation.
So many crafts, so much delight,
the buying urge I often cannot fight.
I know it`s often the same for you
a spree can stop you feeling blue.
So go with it, don`t be slack
I won`t be holding you back!!
