Yesterday was quite hectic. I was at work Saturday and went to my daughters for tea and part of the evening which was lovely. Can`t beat spending time with your family and cuddling the little ones. I try cuddling the bigger ones, but at 12 and 14 they don`t want to know. A bit too grown up to sit on my knee and be read to.
Back to yesterday. I spent all day rushing from one thing to another and have to say that I did get a lot done. The entire house is hoovered and dusted, bathrooms cleaned and beds changed. Yay!! I also got some new things finished off, a flower brooch for hat and buttons sewn on etc. Then I even managed to take photos of several things too. I`m very pleased with the way my two summer hats turned out and rather than sew flowers on, I made them into brooches so they can be worn on the hat or separately at any time. There are only two of them in Bamboo at the minute, I will have to see if I have enough left to make any in other colours. My supply is fast running out and it has been discontinued, which is a shame as the finished product looks and feels wonderful.

I thought the summer had begun
but now there is no summer fun.
The wind is blowing far too much
and it`s brought a chilly touch.
I know it`s still early, only May
but I wanted the good weather to stay.
We keep on having lots of showers
some quite hard, damaging the flowers.
I suppose it`s still spring
but did it have to bring
back the unsettled weather here
are we back to winter gear?
No not quite, it`s not that bad
but no sun at all makes me sad.
Luckily the wind blows the clouds away
and briefly the sun comes out to play.
Then the clouds return far too quick
I tell you, it get`s on my wick.
never mind it will soon be June
and that can`t come too soon.
Will summer come? It`s anyone`s guess
I`m wondering if we`ve had it, I confess.
I`m getting gloomy because it`s dull
but I supect it`s just a lull
a break in the weather for rain
then it will be bright again!
