Can you believe that it`s less than a week to go? I can`t, the time has whizzed by so fast it`s ridiculous.
Yesterday I braved the city to do some shopping and meet a friend. All the papers are filled with stuff like `there`s no money about` and doom and gloom stuff. Well they clearly don`t go into the city at this time of year. It was heaving. One shop assistant was laughing about the fact that as fast as she filled the shelf it was emptying. Most places the queues were long to pay. People were buying frantically and nearly all had hands filled with bags.
I managed to buy a few lovely tops for Christmas wear and they will come in handy on my holiday too. Result. A nice sandwich with coffee for lunch made a nice break and it was back into the fray, arriving home late afternoon. Still a couple of things to do, city wise, but they won`t take long.

don`t know how long they will last.

these shoppers don`t intend to fail.
Head down, shoulders hunched
a big pile of things bunched
under each arm, hands holding tight
was there ever such a grim sight.
That face says, these are mine,
I back away thinking, that`s fine.
We are ready to sit down for a while
and head off for lunch with a smile!!
