Felted Fun #Folksy

Had a busy day yesterday. Washing, bed changing, hovering polishing etc etc. I`m sure you get the picture, the usual sort of stuff. I also did some baking, cakes and bread and coloured my hair, not necessarily in that order.
Then just when I thought I had finished at midday it turned out I had forgotten to print some pictures.
It is my hubby`s birthday today and we all went out for lunch yesterday and then they all came back to our house for coffee, cake and cheese and biscuits etc.
He was very surprised at the amount of people as he`d thought it was just us, our daughter`s and son in law`s and the grandchildren. So everyone else was a big surprise. Lovely to catch up with people we hadn`t seen for a while. I think everyone had a good time. There was plenty of chatting and lot`s of laughter too. My elder daughter had popped by in the morning with her hubby and two youngest children to decorate the house and did a lovely job. The little ones helped to stir the cakes and licked the bowl when I`d finished.
Both my daughters organised it all and I have to say they did a very good job.
Anyway it was getting late by the time I made a start on this and being weary I couldn`t think of much at all. A quick look about and I decided to have all things felted as they always look so stunning. Because of the merino wool the colours are often very vibrant and so gorgeous. I`ve often found that these items are very tactile, very soft with a lovely texture to them.
I have also taken up needle felting and was shown how to wet felt although that information didn`t stick very well. I do love the needle felting though, hence the felting interest.
I hope you enjoy my choices.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

The sun makes it sparkle and shine
have to say the world looks fine.
All bright, shiny, fresh and new
now that is your clue.
Yes it`s snow, pristine and white
making the world a glorious sight.
Stop, look and enjoy a while
it`s guaranteed to make you smile.
Some will say,` too much to do`
as they sit, stuck like glue.
There will always be work to be done
but there won`t always be chances for fun.
The children will rush outside
with happy faces, smiles a mile wide.
Some, they refuse to enjoy life
preferring to moan of stress and strife.
That`s a choice and theirs to make.
Happiness is the choice I take!

  1. Glad you had a good weekend, party girl! Your poem made me think though, as we do sometimes just need some time out to just enjoy life and not worry about all the work we have to do. This is a brilliant collection of felted goodies. Like you, I love needle felting and have everything I require to wet felt too, but have not had the nerve or space to try it yet. Thanks so much for including my penguins in all this loveliness!

  2. Thanks Pat. Festivities continue today as well. I think we do forget to just stop and breathe and enjoy the moment sometimes.
Your penguins are stunning and so cute.

  3. Thanks so much for including my Jack Russell Hat! Everyone of all ages loves trying wet felting! It's messy enough for the kids, but not too messy for the adults - and you can end up cleaner than you were before with all that soap and water!. Lovely blog. Thanks
