I know there are many who don`t like sports, me included, who avoid it like the plague. But we are hosting a very big event and it does deserve a mention, if only for the fact it brings people together and makes us all feel patriotic. Well, maybe that should be most. I have heard a few grump about it. Right now though we all need to have the feel good factor in our lives and it does bring that.
When I went with my daughter and grandchildren to see the torch as it passed by our area the feeling was electric. So many people out at such an early hour and all so happy, such a wonderful energy was generated. I think it`s the same with the games. If you watched the opening ceremony you will know what I mean, that feeling just leapt through the TV screen.
Next week I shall be away. I had thought about preparing blogs in advance but it takes so much time that I decided not too. I shall have a complete break. They will probably be here till mid week. Just thought I would give you all advance notice.

Sports everywhere you go
all about one great show.
So many sports all together
going on regardless of the weather.
So many countries in one place
all taking part in the race.
The prize goes to the bold
as they try to win the gold.
The athletes are put to the test
trying to prove they are best.
Swimming, cycling and running
all doing their best and gunning
for the very best top spot
to prove that they are hot.
We all want ours to win a medal
whether with water or foot to the pedal.
So many sports under one roof
and all of this is proof
that we can all get along
when the reason is very strong.
Sporting people put differences aside
so they can enjoy the manic ride!!
