Proud Peacocks #FolksyFriday

This blog was inspired by a front page on Folksy a few days ago. Their front page is taken from Pinterest now. People do boards labelled as Folksy and they pick out the ones they like for the front page. It does give more people a chance to be seen, which is good.
Anyway, this front page had a variety of peacocks on it and they looked great so I though I would do a blog on them.
I had favorited a couple of them and then put peacocks into the search. Then I panicked a bit as there was only one page. EEk. So then I had a brainwave and put in peacock blue and much to my relief came up with a few pages. Several that I clicked on were already sold, so I think peacocks must be quite popular at the moment. I`m not surprised as they do look fabulous, so proud with the glorious colours, an asset to any person or room.
Well our weather has changed again. Definitely cooler and we had rain and it came down quite hard at times. Fingers crossed it soon goes away.
It did stay dry yesterday morning though when I took my 3 year old grandson to the city on the bus. He does love the bus and always wants to go upstairs. Well he does if it`s a double decker... can`t really do it otherwise. Can`t say I fancy sitting on the roof.
We also had lunch together and a little trip to the supermarket before it was time to take him home. He is off on holiday today with his Mum and Dad and brothers and sister. They are off to Northumberland and very excited about it too.
My hubby will be busy finishing a wardrobe he`s building in, while they are away, an ideal time to do it. I shall miss them all very much but they will have a lovely time I am sure.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Peacocks strut their stuff
and never seem to look rough.
The peahen is very plain,
the male, gaudy and so vain.
The peacock must dance and display
all he can each and every day
if he wants to win her favours
while she watches and savours
her power over all that is male
while he preens with his tail.
It`s beautiful, all must agree
a real marvel of nature you see.
`Proud as a peacock` they say
not something you hear every day.
But the peacock has reason for his pride
and admittedly no one can deride
that gorgeous fan of feathered eyes,
even though it means he never flies.
So many peacocks and feathers, what a view,
all laid out here just for you!!

  4. Thank you so much for including my blue embroidered peacock ACEO, he is very happy to be featured! I enjoyed embroidering him, but my fingers were quite sore afterwards, so very pleased you like him enough to feature him.

I love all of your choices, in particular Carol's Blue peacock cushion, as I think they go well together.

  8. I love peacocks! Some lovely ones here.

I have just finished making a tapestry of William Morris' Peacock from his Forest tapestries! Just have to block it now (the worst bit).
