Life Changing Perspectives #Etsy

What do you think of when you think of perspectives. Art? A long road vanishing into the distance? Size, shape?
Does it apply to your actual life? Some right now will be nodding, others very likely thinking, what a load of rubbish. A few will be intrigued.
You`ve all heard the story about 6 people seeing something happen and 6 stories being entirely different. All those stories are essentially correct but they are told from each persons perspectve.
An example: When you look at your body, what do you see? Something that is functional and works as it should? Maybe you try not to look because you hate it. What do others see, a child, a partner, a workmate, a parent? If you really stopped to think about it you would realise that they all see you differently, each from their own perspective. The perspective, of course, is altered by the relationship to you.
So many of us spend a lifetime wishing for something else, a better job, a better house, a better body..... always convinced that if only it came about, then... we would finally be happy.
NOT TRUE!
If we had a perfect body, not sure by whose standards it would be perfect. A perfect home. Again who makes the standard?
A perfect relationship/family. Hmmmm.... Does that exist?
A perfect job. Who rates the perfection of the job? You, your neighbour, your boss, some faceless advertising executive?
It all really comes down to perspective, YOUR perspective. Therefore if you change that perspective even just a little it makes a whole world of difference.
You are fed up with your job, complain about it all the time and that makes you feel worse about it. You`d like to give it up but what else do you do?
It gets to the stage that you complain about it so much that you don`t even realise how often you are doing it. Until.... a comment by someone brings it home to you and stops you dead. At first you feel annoyed but then it makes you think... and then think some more.
So why are you doing the job? The money, you can`t afford to leave without another job to go to. Sound familiar.
So what do you do? You make a list of all the reasons you have the job, then what would happen without it. Then you realise that you would miss your workmates perhaps or a perk that you get. The best realisation is that you need the job and making the best of it, for now at least, would make life so much easier. The upshot? You don`t dislike the job so much any more and you take on board the advantages of having it. So then you don`t complain about it and feel happier as a result.
Just goes to show that the slight change of perspective altered everything about it.
Every time you can`t find a solution for something, try looking at it from a differnt angle. You`ll be amazed how often it all looks so totally different. Worth a try.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

The way that you see the world is peculiar to you
no one else in the world has quite the same view.
Everything about you colours how you think
about every single thing, even the sink.
One person looks back
and only sees the lack.
Another sees the good
just like they should.
Some will say, that summer was bad
it was the worst we ever had.
Another says that summer was the best
so much better than all the rest.
You listen and wonder why
it can really make you sigh.
We all live in a world of our making
don`t think many are faking.
We all see the world from our own view,
it`s the same for both me and you.
Yours maybe very topsy turvy
while anothers maybe curvy.
Others only have a straight line
and for them that`s just fine.
Your world is made by your perspective
and your thoughts as a collective!!
