Tulips #Handmade #Folksy

I saw some gorgeous creations with tulips on and was instantly transported back to Saturday. The bride and the bridesmaids at my daughters wedding carried tulips. Simple, but very very effective. They really set off the dresses without detracting from them.
Tulips are also a lovely reminder of spring and right now we need a reminder as it has turned so cold again. Yesterday was bright with sunshine but with a very chilly wind. It seems after a brief promise of spring we are back to winter.
I promised to tell you a little bit about the wedding, so here goes.
Try and picture a beautiful old building, Dragon Hall, with massive beams spanning the high ceilings. All these beams were covered in white fairy lights and the walls, also with many large wooden beams, were bedecked with the same lights. In the dusk of early evening they twinkled and sparkled like thousands of stars.
The tables for the reception were all named for cities that had meaning for the couple, Zurich, where they lived recently and cities here and abroad they had visited or lived in. Each table had a large lantern in the centre with a tall candle inside that added to the fairy tale look.
It was wonderful to catch up with relatives and friends that we hadn`t seen for a while and to meet new people that have now become part of the family too. There were lots of friends of the couple too that had come from far and wide to share in their day and help to make it even more special.
It all went so quickly and it seems unbelievable that it`s now past and life will once more become ordinary after all the flurry of preparations.
For the couple of course it`s another adventure on their journey through life.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Life is a journey, so they say,
an adventure leading to the big day.
Then the adventure just gets bigger
as now the couple have to figure
which path is the one to take
as each day they now wake
side by side and continue on
now the wedding day is done.
Occasionally they`ll hit a cul de sac
and wonder what that choice did lack.
Then they`ll turn and move on
that path already forgotten and done.
Life`s twists and turns take us many places
and we often meet old and new faces.
We find ourselves in places we don`t know
that occasionally dulls the glow.
Love and laughter pick us up
help to fill the empty cup.
Through life`s up and downs and each test
keep talking and you`ll forget the rest.
A long life together can take work
a task you should never shirk.
Make the most of each and every day
for a long happy life, it`s the best way!!
