Nutty Crafters #Handmade #Folksy

Glad to see that you are all still coming to visit in spite of all the disasters.
I`m telling you it`s hard work having all these disasters.
Well i know it doesn`t really rate as a disaster, there are far worse things that happen and can happen, but being without internet is a minor disaster you have to admit. I cannot believe how lost I am without it. Or how much I use it.
Maybe that`s the lesson to learn from this, not to use it so much. Or maybe it`s about balance. I need to learn to balance it all out better. On the plus side, as I said yesterday, it does give me more making time and I have finished a scarf and am half way through two hats that I am making in the new stitch I made up.
So there really is something good in every situation, you just have to look for it.
Now I`m not really the most technical person as you have probably guessed. I have worked out how to get my e-mail, how to go on my shop and how to write on my blog from the phone. But do you think I can find all my phone numbers? Can I heck!!!! I have looked all over the place. I even accidentally called my daughter a couple of times and didn`t know what to do to stop it.
So I turned it off and then she called me and I did`t know how to answer it. I am used to pressing the button to speak but of course you have to slide this one, I did get there in the end.
My new son-in-law to be has got a similar phone apparently or at least knows how to work it so he will help with that. My daughter did mention something about importing numbers, so I just said ahhh wisely and then admitted I didn`t have a clue.
By the time you are reading this I should be much more phone savvy.... and if you believe that you`ll believe anything.
Right now I have stopped waffling about me I will tell you, in case you didn`t notice the title, that this blog is for the New Year Nutters. I really miss being able to pop on and off the forums when I like and being able to list and comment. I did quickly have a click through when I got the chance, but no pinning stumbling or tweeting at the minute. Amazing how much time that all takes up too. What I did get to see was so lovely that I decided I had to add them to here for you all to see.
It always amazes me how the crafts just get better and better, more innovative too, they are all such wonderfully clever folk.
I am so glad to see the change that is happening as more and more people turn to handmade and avoid mass produced. Let`s face it we are all individuals and that should be reflected in what we wear and have in our homes and give as gifts.
Okay, lecture over.
ENJOY!!!

Oh no, it`s such a dreary day,
please sun come out to play,
because it will make me smile
if only for a little while.
Everyone is happier when
it shines brightly and then
the world is a happier place,
with a smile on nearly every face!
When it rains and it`s chill
nearly everyone will
be in a hurry, head down
barging along with a frown.
If I`m in a hurry, in a rush
I just want to avoid the crush,
I`ll be grumpy too and very wet
then all I want to do is get
my things done and be on my way
even leaving things for another day.
But if I just slowed down for a moment
I would remember this time is lent
and stop to just smell the roses
and consider the questions life poses.
So stop and feel the peace seep
into you with each breath so deep!!

  1. Hi Linda
Thanks for including my bag. Sorry to hear of your difficulties, but I know what you mean about the computer - that and my sewing machine figure huge in my life - I'd be lost without them both!

  2. Thanks for featuring my painting! I am completely lost without the internet, I run my business on it, chat to 'friends' many of whom I have never actually met, I do my shopping on it, it answers all my questions and keeps me up to date with the news. I feel for you, and hope you get it back soon. I am lucky, my OH is a bit of a computer whizz, and can usually fix it, I stand behind him saying 'just make it work!' but it is not always that simple (apparently). Michele x

  3. Thank you Linda!
I also rely far too much upon my computer. Thankfully I've seldom had a problem (Says she hanging onto a block of wood!!)
Just realised my thistle looks as if he wants to burst into song...looks awfully cheery!!

  6. Thank you so much for including my knitted rose handbag in your feature gallery, so kind of you.

I get huge withdrawal symptoms when I am without my internet, and find I am at a loss, so I know exactly how you feel.
