Crafty Nutters #Handmade #Folksy

It`s the turn of the Nutters today. Such an apt name for the January listing club on Folksy as we are all nutty about our crafts.
The club is going well so far this month with lot`s of new listings every day and what listings they are! So many gorgeous creations to tempt me and everyone else. But then of course we all have special occasions to buy for as well as wanting the odd treat for ourselves.
I must confess to having was tempted yesterday and succumbed. Ooops. But in my defence it`s for a gift and yes this one will definitely reach the recipient. I know that I have confessed in the past that quite a few of my purchases don`t leave my home but some things are just too lovely to give away.
Now then, what did I do yesterday. I went to work, so nothing exciting there. I did the usual and crocheted a bit before work and during my lunchtime. In the evening my younger daughter and her fiance took us out to dinner, which was absolutely wonderful. We came home feeling stuffed and wanting to fall asleep.
Great not to have to cook and better still to have such a lovely meal with no washing up. Really lovely to spend some time with the two of them. Their time is in rather short supply at the minute, between work and wedding preparations. The wedding is now only five weeks away, not long at all. My daughter is also trying to fit in some training for the London marathon as after years of trying, she finally got a place for this year.
It`s typical that it would happen this year when there is so much else going on.
After we came back I started on a pair of fingerless mittens in the new crochet stitch I devised and it went wonderfully. I am thrilled to bits with them. I mitt done and the other well on the way. The new pattern makes them fit really well and yet is stretchy to fit all sizes and better still they are made all in one piece. Yay!!
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

It`s so cold it`s made me shiver,
like lack of crafting makes me quiver.
On the plus side, the frost is pretty,
now I should think of something witty.
Not sure the brain cells will go that far,
perahps I shouldn`t try in case you bar
me from rhyming anything at all
and that would probably make me bawl.
Back to the sparkly frosty morning
that shimmers as the day is dawning.
Rooftops white and all a shine.
Don`t they all look so fine?
Leaves underfoot with a crunch
makes me want something to munch.
The cold makes me eat much more
but I think that`s what winter`s for.
Genetically that`s the way we`re made,
for winter the fat should be laid
upon our frames to keep out the cold,
not sure it should be as big, that fold.
It`s my excuse and sounds great to me,
maybe summer will see a thinner me!
