Had a look and I think I shall have gifts that last as a theme. So the type of gifts that are as useful as they are beautiful and will go on being used by the recipient long after Christmas is over.
In this day and age where everything seems to so disposable it`s nice to have good quality items that last longer than the usual few months of mass produced stuff. Years ago big items like Tv`s and Washing machines were expected to last 30 years or more and they did, now you`re supposed to have done well if they last 5, which to be honest I find terrible. But I won`t go into that just now, I could go on for ages about it.
There seem to be a lot of people discovering handmade and then sticking with it because of the quality and price. Nice to know that something you give or wear won`t be adorning a few million other people.
It`s also about supporting British craftspeople before they too disappear like so many of the small shops.
At work yesterday but I didn`t crochet in my lunch hour, instead I spent the time writing down verses for this blog. When ispiration strikes you just have to go with it. Did do some in the evening though.

The darkness is beginning to part
as the sun begins it`s slow start
to rise and bring us the day
so we can all come out to play.
The horizon is glowing red,
most miss it, still in bed.
The red glows like a fire
glad it`s not something so dire.
The streak is widening, getting brighter
even as the day is getting lighter.
I love to sit and watch the dawn
especially a display like this in the morn.
Now it`s fading to an orange glow
getting into the morning flow.
Wow, back again to a vivid red and glowing
this morning the colours are really flowing.
Growing wide, streaking the sky,
such a show today on high.
Now the sun is above the horizon
and todays show is nearly done.
Bright orange turning to yellow gold,
I love to see a show this bold.
Sunrise is done, the show is over
I love to see it, so I`m in clover!
