Shades of Autumn #Handmade #Folksy

Couldn`t decide what to do for today and then I spotted a few Autumn colours and decided to go with that and see what else I could find. As you can see I found lots. There are of course many more that could have made an appearance but I have to stop somewhere. Each shop has lots more wonderful items if you have a little time for a wander. It`s good to browse and get ideas for gifts for upcoming special occasions.
Friday night I got quite a bit more done on my poncho while I babysat. Yesterday I was at work but I didn`t take the poncho to crochet as it was getting a bit big and bulky. Instead I took a collar I was finishing and got on with that quite well, not much more to do on that now.. The colours of it were much admired by my co-workers. I had to get it out and show them once they spotted it.
I also started something else. Knitting with four different yarns at once, not quite sure where that`s going yet, but I am sure it will reveal itself in time. It was inspired by some massive knitting needles I saw, so big that you have to balance them on your lap as you work. The upside is you use several yarns together, very tempting considering the size of my yarn stash. The only trouble was that they were expensive.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Autumn colours starting to appear,
winter is on the way, I fear.
Such glorious shades of red
putting the summer back to bed.
Green turning to orange and yellow
as the year starts to mellow.
Then finally they turn to brown
and that`s when we start to frown.
Then we see the trees are bare,
looking back at summer, no fair.
Naked trees silhouetted in the gloom,
as short days darken the room.
Then we dream of nights round the fire
of flickering flames of gold that inspire
us to recreate the autumn shades of gold
with red and orange to make it bold.
A change of season isn`t bad,
though sometimes it makes us sad.
Every season has points that are good,
so celebrate diversity as we should!!

  1. Thanks so much for including my felted pumpkins in your autumnal collection. You've found some lovely things, as usual, and that scarf is stunning. I am in awe of anyone who can knit or crochet :)

  2. What a beautiful selection, I love the colours in Autumn, its definitely my favourite season! Have to say I was surprised when I looked up last weekend and saw that some of the trees had already started to turn golden and lose their leaves. Summer sure was short, but there's definitely lots to get excited about as the seasons change! x
