Pink, Purple & Poncho #Handmade #Folksy

For those that saw me writing about the poncho I was making, it was finished in time for me to take away with me. It was very close as I was finishing the last little bit in the car on the way to London, but I got it all done in the end, which is the main thing. Not sure if the looks I was getting were pitying or admiring but I don`t care because I love it.
As the poncho is pink and purple, I think I will find other things that are pink and purple too.
Yesterday I was busy taking photos of my newest creations, the ones I made while I was away. After which I was busy putting them into draft ready to be listed. I really enjoyed using the new chunky yarn I got and really love the different colours in each ball. The finished effect, I think, looks lovely and feels so soft and warm. I shall be popping into the city and seeing if they have got anymore and maybe try some different colours. I have used one that goes from green through to purple, another that is rainbow bright and the other is in shades of red, from dark to light. I shall have to see what else I can find methinks.
I listed a new scarf/collar design that I thought up whilst away, took a bit of working out but looks great in the red shades yarn. It has a wide crocheted loop under one of the tabs so that it stays in place and lays flat for a great finished effect. I shall probably put it on here tomorrow. There are also a matching hat and gloves that I am listing today too.
Okay that`s probably enough waffle for now, although I could go on and on and...... You get the picture.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Pink and Purple is the thing
in my poncho I wanted to bring,
to display for you to see
because I made it just for me.
It did take me quite a while,
but the making made me smile.
I love the colours and the feel,
it really is the real deal.
So in it`s honour today
I have chosen crafts to display
that are the colours I love
and seem to go hand in glove.
They fit together like a matching pair,
making the creations, oh so fair.
Each colour makes the other stand out
so this is for those very devout.
Those that love purple and pink
and like me they really think
that they just go together,
so well like birds of a feather!

I made this by making a triangle first for the front and then working from the shoulders, I carried on down the back. Once the initial shape was completed I then crocheted all the way round until it was the size I wanted. There are rows of just textured yarn, some with textured and sparkly and some with textured and fluffy. There are also some with all fluffy yarn or all sparkly yarn too. It was quite a challenge as I had no idea what I was doing at all, just an idea in my head, with a vague idea of the sort of shape I wanted. I am very pleased with the way it turned out and love wearing it.
