#Sunday Mayhem #Handmade #Folksy

Mayhem and madness once more. Todays blog is for the Folksy listing club the Mayhems. For those that don`t know, on Folksy there has been a daily listing club of various names since April 2010. The daily listing is more of a personal challenge than a must. In the club we support each other by promoting opther listings, commiserating when things aren`t going well and cheering each time someone has a sale. Natalie from NOFKants Curios keeps the sales tally updated and all of us going with her encouragement and support.
Bit of madness in my home today. I was determined to get some beads sewn on to a set of glass covers yesterday. Well actually there are two sets, one in two shades of pink and one in blue and grey, I digress. I had started on the first cover of the pink set the day before and sat down to get on with that when my 4 yr old grandson appeared with his Dad. He decided he would like to stay awhile and I agreed, anything to put off sewing.
While he was munching, having raided the cupboards, I sewed a few more beads on. But then the 12 yr old appeared. He wanted some jobs to do. I offered him sewing but got turned down. Then the 4 yr old and I had a bounce on the trampoline. Back inside the 12 yr old had put the TV on and as I glanced out of the window I saw my grandaughter and her friend. Oh no, not another cupboard raider, I said. Thanks alot, I love you too, was her reply as they too headed for the cupboards. So it was busy there for a while and I manged to put off the sewing. Eventually they all went home and I returned to it and managed to finish the pink set. Couldn`t face the other one as the first had taken nearly three hours to bead. Maybe today...

Mayhem yesterday, certainly did abound
especially with the grandchildren around.
Snacks and drinks were all over
they thought they were in clover.
Running round the garden having fun
even though the sewing wasn`t done.
Time with them is so much better
just not good enough as a go-getter.
I should have been knuckling down
but the thought just made me frown.
Hats off to all those who do sewing
because me, I feel like throwing,
it out of the window, far away,
that`s not good, I hear you say.
Before my beads had bigger holes
and me, I had bigger goals.
Now I`m left with all the rest
small holes that put me to the test.
No more threading them on the yarn
now it`s individual sewing and DARN!
with invisible thread it takes so long to do,
must be an easier way. Maybe glue?
No, I know that`s being silly and daft,
I was thinking of that and laughed.
My fault it takes so long
I want the hold to be strong.
Want them all to be secure.
when they fly out the door.
Now I`ve had a new idea
That`s it, I`m out of HERE!!
