#Celebrations and Crafts.

We all had a fabulous weekend celebrating a 30th and 60th Birthdays and my daughters engagment to a wonderful young man on her 30th birthday. It started with a lovely meal out on Friday evening for 12 of us. The pub may never be the same again as we made quite a lot of noise singing happy birthday, but we had great fun. The next day was a busy day cooking and preparing some of the party food, quiches and cakes and things on sticks. Nothing very taxing. We made a heap of cupcakes too in different flavours, covered them in chocolate( white and milk) and iced Congratulations on them, one letter on each. It turned out quite well. I realise now that I should have taken a photo of them to show you. I didn`t eat any but apparently they were quite nice. Late afternoon and evening was the celebration party with lots of children enjoying the bouncy castle as well as some of the adults. I love big parties like that as you get to catch up with people you haven`t seen for a while.
I think the worst part is when the vistors from away, go home, because you want them to stay so you can enjoy their company some more.
Never mind, that celebration is over but we`ll have lots more to look forward to. With a big family there is always another celebration coming up. Lets see... more birthdays, another 60th in September and maybe a wedding to plan before long. Maybe.....

Excitement and fun was the order of the day
well 2 days really, it was great, I must say.
Family and friends and children galore
for the party time, who could want more.
Lots of food and decorations
and wine to aid the celebrations
with chat, laughter and song
what could possibly go wrong.
It all flowed smoothly, all just right
everything perfect on the special night.
Two special nights on the trot
how extremely lucky had I got!
To be able to share the fun
the sad part is that now it`s done.

These are a few pictures I took of my finished summer wrap before it left to go to it`s new home. The pictures don`t do justice to the beautiful colours in the yarn, but you get the general idea. It can be worn tied at the front, hanging down or tied at the bag to turn it into a shrug. The yarn has beautiful fluffy strands of wool and ribbon intertwined in varying shades of blue and purple.

This one is made in a beige bamboo yarn. It is awaiting a viewing by an interested customer, but it may yet make it`s way to my shop. Please excuse the photos as they are bad even by my standards. This is just to give you an idea of what they are like as I have mentioned them a few times on different blogs.

I think I have waffled enough already today. So I will go on to todays blog about new shops on Folksy. Everyone has to start somewhere and it`s quite hard learning what to put where and how to set up. Then once all that work is done you wait expecting a rush of customers that don`t appear because they don`t know you are there. The hardest part of it all and the most time consuming is definitely the promoting and advertising of an online shop.
So please go and have a browse in each shop and look through their wares because it is encouraging to see the view counters rising. It is of course more encouraging to have a sale. So if you see something you really like go for it, after all it may not be there when you go back later.

I`ll just do a little ditty
to show you things are pretty
in the new Folksy shops too
where things are also made for you.
We crafters all love the world of handmade
where the fun of new goods will never fade.
We really love all the shops old and new
there is room for many, not just a few.
So why not come to Folksy and have a view
of all these special crafts, made just for you!
