Tuesday Delights. #Handmade #Folksy

Half term week this week. Are you frazzled already, had enough? Or are you enjoying every minute of it. When mine were young I loved the holidays, the freedom from routine and the chance to be spontaneous. Going out for days and being able to let them stay up later. I always hated it when they went back to school, especially after the summer holidays. They used to ask me why I couldn`t be normal like the other mum`s, who were glad the children were going back to school. I was always so grumpy the day before they went back, hating the thought of the routine returning.
Had a good day with two of the granchildren yesterday. A bit of crafting first, then off to the city for lunch, followed by a trip to the cinema. We did intend to see Gnomeo and Juliet but it was only in 3D which gives my grandaughter a headache. No 2D till the evening apparently. So we changed to Tangled, which was really enjoyable and funny. Ate far too much popcorn, mainly because the children didn`t eat much. Never mind, I`m sure I must have walked most of it off afterwards. Hmmm!
Taking my eldest grandson to buy his birthday present today. He didn`t come yesterday as he had other commitments, so we get to spend some time together today which will be fun.

Went to the cinema yesterday
was a day of fun and play.
Had too much fizzy drink,
enough to make my seat sink.
Add that to the popcorn too
and my belly was thinking, Phew!
Lunch out first had filled us up,
really shouldn`t have such a large cup.
A day with the children is such fun
a lot of laughs by the time the day is done.
We had taken the time for crafting as well,
wasn`t for something we would ever sell.
This was something special, for a gift.
Something to give the recipient a lift.
it`s nice to see them enjoying the making
and tomorrow I`ll be doing the baking.
Are you wondering what we made yesterday,
in case the recipient sees this, I can`t say.
In a day or two I can reveal all
maybe add a picture for you all!

  1. Glad you had a good day out with the Grandchildren and hope the baking turned out well!

Your choices are really good as always, lots of items I haven't noticed before. I like the purple charm bracelet, very pretty, and I'm already a fan of Mad Bags by Wendy, I've ordered one of hers and can't wait to get it!

Thanks for putting together this lovely blog for us, I've enjoyed reading/looking at it:)

  2. Thank you Margaret, the baking was honey jars the children did with glass paints for their Mum for her birthday. They are to put tealights in.
